Part 3

Liam:
Today was Lucas's birthday party and Ruth, Nicola their parents and Marci's family were outside helping Liam set up for the party, While Liam is being a bit of a crazy control freak but he just wants everything to be perfect for Lucas but also because Zayn is going to be here and he doesn't want him to think that's his a horrible parent

"It looks fine Liam" Ruth huffs after moving the banner for what felt like the 100th time "but it has to perfect, fine is not going to cut it" "Liam his not going to care if the banner is half an inch" Nicola adds as she comes outside with the trays of food that Karen and Willow had made and Liam knew that when she said 'he' she didn't mean Lucas

"I know I'm sorry, it's just It's the first time I'm going to see him again and the first I'm going to met Elodie nothing can go wrong" Liam's huffs slumping down in the chair at the head of the table "nothing will go wrong darling" Karen says resting a hand on his shoulder "c'mon you better get ready mister the guest are almost here and Lucas wants to show you the cake he helped me decorate" Willow says placing a tray of cold drinks on the table and Liam runs his hands through his hair and gets up to go see Lucas in the kitchen

"Hey buddy, Nanna said you wanted to show me your cake" He said hugging Him from behind "Yeah look daddy, race track" the cake looked really good in Liam's opinion and he could tell that Lucas was so proud of it even though Liam knows he probably only did a little bit. The cake was two tiers the first one a lot smaller and had a road going around it down to the bottom with some lightening McQueen toys around it and green icing for the "grass" with a 6 candle and sparklers on top "looking good baby, your friends are going to be here soon why don't you clean up so you can come answer the door with me" and Lucas nods doing the same thing

Soon enough the door bell rings and the first of the guests arrive and Liam let's them in smiling and welcoming them in getting their presents so that Lucas doesn't open them in front of people. All the guests had arrived and Lucas was outside playing with the other kids and their parents sat around the table chatting and eating and Liam was happy. but he still waiting on someone and after what felt like ages he can see the car he was waiting for pull up and he walks Into the kitchen to make it look like he wasn't waiting at the door for him.

Soon his hears a knock on the door and sure enough it's Zayn "Hey, sorry we are late this one was being difficult" "all good the party is just starting anyway" Zayn smiles gratefully and looks up meeting Liam's eyes staring into them for maybe a little to long he awkwardly clearing his throat "Ah this is Elodie, El this is Liam say hi" "Hi" she says holding on to her dads jeans "Hi Elodie" Liam says cruching down to her eye height and holding his hand for her to shake

Elodie looks up at Zayn as if asking if she can take his hand Zayn just nods his head a gestured forward and Elodie grabs his hand and "shakes" his hand "firm grip, nice to see" Liam smiles and that makes Elodie giggle

"Um I wasn't really sure what to get Lucas, so I hope he likes the present we chose" Zayn says chewing his lip nervously "it's all good he likes pretty much everything you think that a little boy would like" Liam smiles taking the present and putting it with the pile with the other presents

"The kids are all outside playing if Elodie wants to go play with them there's some kids her age there" Liam explains and Zayn nods looking at his daughter "You wanna go play with the kids outside or stay with Baba?" Zayn's asks gently knowing she's quite shy and usually isn't the person to go out and play with people she didn't know but she surprised Zayn when she said "Play Pease Baba" "of course Jaan" he says as he watches her run off to find the other kids outside

"She's super cute, she looks just like you" Liam compliments "Thank you" he smiles "we'll come in I'll show you around and introduce you to everyone" Liam says even though he'd rather spend the day with Zayn alone it is Lucas's birthday party and he should spend time with him and making sure that he has the best birthday ever
