Prologue

Zayn:
Zayn wakes up after feeling something move next to him followed by whimpers he checks the time on his phone it's 2:36am. He groans knowing thats there's a low chance that he is going to get back to sleep now but turns around to see his daughters sad face. Elodie takes the opportunity to hide under her baba's arm & burry her face in his chest. Zayn decides to let her cry before he asks her whats wrong stroking her dark her & massaging her head as she cries into his bare chest.

"Hey baby, what happened?" Zayn says after it seems like she'd calmed down enough to talk
"Scary baba, they were going to take you away" & Zayn sighs it's been almost a week since these nightmares about monsters coming to take her away from daddy have come back it was something someone said that reminded her of the real life "monsters" her mothers legal team.

The mother that just disappeared out of their live one day only leaving a note too Zayn. Only to return 3 years later wanting full custody claiming Zayn stole her away. But Zayn couldn't bare that thought so he fought with everything that he could & he won luckily but not without having to break to his little girl that she might not be going back home with her baba that she loved so much

& although he loves his daughter & would do anything for her he also just really wants a full night sleep "it was only dream nobody is going to take you away from me ever" "ever?" She asks in such a tiny & cute voice that Zayn can't help but pull face out of his chest, look at her and smile fondly & as he wipes the tears out of her eyes he whispers "ever" at that Elodie smiles knowing she will always be safe with baba

after about half an hour of Zayn singing softly & gently rubbing her back he managed to get Elodie back to sleep he smiled down at the face of his daughter that reminded him so much of himself & his glad for that because he couldn't imagine what it would be like if she had of looked like her mother Zayn despised that women after everything she did. He can't believe he once loved her well at least he thought he did. Brushing the hair out of her face Zayn snuggles closer resting his head on top of hers & tries to fall back to sleep for a few hours before Elodie wakes up again.

& sure enough what feels like as soon as he closes his eyes Elodie is jumping on his bed telling him it's time to wake up. When Zayn opens his eyes he expects to see the toddler with her wild messy hair & messy pjs like most mornings but instead Elodie's hair is brushed & tied up out of her face in two little pony tails & she is wearing a fresh pair of clothes that zayn has to admit look cute.

"Uncle Lou & Harry here" she states matter of factly "I assumed" Zayn checked his watch & surprisingly it's almost 10am probably the longest sleep in his had In what feels like forever & his grateful that Louis & Harry come & help as much as they do he really is but his also very stubborn & wishes he could be & do everything his daughter needs but as she's getting bigger Zayn knows it's going to be harder & harder to do this by himself. He groans getting out of bed walking into the kitchen seeing 4 plates of breakfast from some fast food place but Zayn doesn't even think about asking which one. He sits down in one of the seats.

"Hungry, baba" Élodie Whined as She took the seat next to her dad "by the looks of it your uncles have been here for a while why didn't you eat if you were hungry?" Zayn asks not to sternly so that she thinks she's in trouble but just enough that she knows that he is serious & he is, Zayn has struggled with eating his entire life so it's very important to him that Élodie is fed whenever she is hungry "They say wait for baba, eat all together" she stage whispers as if trying to make sure her uncles didn't hear her

"Louis" Zayn says glaring at him Louis raises his hands in innocence knowing all to well about Zayn's rules with Élodie. "it was my idea" Harry steps in "I thought that we could eat together & she never told me she was hungry" He finishes hoping that Zayn isn't too mad. Zayn wants to be but he can't, not at those two after everything they've done & given up for the him & Élodie & he supposed that the rule was maybe a bit silly so he let them off this one time
