Chapter 24

Phil's lay on his bed, recovering from last night's events. Tubbo lay by his side ready to aid him if we woke up suddenly. After treating Philza your mana had almost been completely depleted, leaving you exhausted.

"I'm going to sleep now," You told Tubbo, rising from the seat next to him, he gave you a simple nod of acknowledgement as you walked out the door almost bumping into Technoblade. The sudden impact making you fall back a little in surprise, he caught you, noting your levels of exhaustion. 

"you still haven't slept" He spoke coldly. You shrugged off his attitude as being his usual stoic self. Straightening yourself up to walk again.

"I was just about to sleep, you should too" you gave the Pink-haired man a sad smile and a pat on the shoulder, indicating that he should worry about himself more. He started at your back while you slowly disappeared down the hall, he was conflicted about so many things.

You slept safely next to the other kids, some of them cuddled up around you for comfort which made you chuckle as sleep slowly took over you. But your peaceful night didn't last long when a firework was blasted into the night sky alerting Techno, he stood up making his way to the window where saw a barely conscious leader holding his crossbow in the air before collapsing once again.

"Ah, fuck..." 

Techno ran around the Orphanage looking for you when he finally found you sleeping peacefully he shook you awake,  causing you to stir until fully awake.

"W-what?! What the hell is happening?!" You yelled at Techno who stared you down with serious eyes.

"We have to leave...I thought they all died from blood loss but That asshole was still alive...Guards and Hunters will show up soon"

Your eyes widened looking around at the kids who slowly started to wake up from all the ruckus. Some stared in confusion at the two of you, you couldn't just leave them, not when Philza had protected you and not when these kids would get sold off.

"No...I'm not leaving without them" 

Techno grimaced. 

"We...we don't even know them!" His words didn't stop your piercing gaze. 

"if I thought the same about you, you'd be dead"

Techno heard your words, and grit his teeth in response. You were right.

"Fuck..." He said to himself before walking out the bedroom door with a slam. The kids turned back to you, scared of their fate if you were to leave.

"Please don't leave us" They begged you, hugging your arms tightly, afraid that if they let go you might disappear before their very eyes.

"I'm not going anywhere without you guys," You stood up "Come on, all of you get dressed, wake up your younger brothers and sisters and then pack all the food, blankets and clothes you have." 

They all nodded, following your orders. It was chaotic at first but then the eldest children took over to help the youngest. Packing was going smoothly but you still had to talk to Techno about a plan, you weren't fully sure where they could even go.

Technoblade stood by the front door, it was blocked by furniture and he stood there sword in hand and ready. You casually walked over, telling him you told the kids to get ready to move, but you didn't know where.

Techno sighed. "I know" 

Your eyes lit up, finally a plan! He avoided eye contact with you while he spoke monotonously.
