Chapter 3: The Fruit Sellers

"I hope Mrs. Kerr whooped your butt!", called the annoying voice of Nancy Bobofit. 'Hmm...so it seems Naruto was right. Mrs. Dodds must have manipulated something to make everyone forget about her and replace herself with this 'Mrs. Kerr' person.', Percy thought. "Knock it off, Boba Fett!", he yelled back. "Don't call me that!", Nancy yelled back.

Percy wondered why she was wearing different pants than she was before, but he remembered how Naruto scared her enough to make her wet herself. He grew a sly smirk, happy to gain some ammunition against her. He wouldn't use it now, of course, but he would definitely embarrass her in front of the whole class when the time was right. Oh, sweet, sweet vengeance.

Chiron and Grover were wondering why Percy did not make a fuss about people not remembering Mrs. Dodds, but Chiron remembered how Naruto talked to Percy before bringing him back. Yes, he would have to watch out for this "Naruto" character. Such a powerful person could not have appeared so suddenly. While Grover did not know about Naruto saving Percy, he saw them walking back together, so he also made the assumption that they talked about what happened.

Although Naruto's energy signature was somewhat reminiscent of a demigod, Greek Monsters attempting to mimic their signature was not unheard of. The inhuman features Naruto possessed were not helping the situation either. Chiron was unwilling to take action against Naruto on the off-chance that he actually was a demigod, but he was going to take extra precautions against him.

Throughout the rest of the trip, Percy was weirded out by how everyone acted as if Mrs. Dodds never existed, even when he added Mrs. Dodds references to some of the things he said. They seemed to think Mrs. Kerr, a perky blonde woman, had been their pre-algebra teacher since Christmas. Naruto gave him a look that said "I told you so.", and Percy just shook his head in exasperation before turning to Grover.

Interestingly, Grover did not seem to be completely in agreement with the rest of the class, as he was sending nervous glances to both Percy and Naruto. Percy mentally smirked as he leaned closer to Grover's ear. "You remember Mrs. Dodds, don't you, Grover.", he whispered, causing Grover to jump and yelp in anxiety. "Any problems, Grover?", Mr. Brunner asked pleasantly. "N-No, I'm f-fine.", Grover said as he gulped and took in a few deep breaths to calm himself.

Grover turned to a waiting Percy to reply. "What d-do you mean? Our p-pre-algebra t-teacher is Mrs. K-Kerr.", Grover said nervously. "You're a bad liar, Grover. Your ears turn pink and you stutter a lot more when you do", Percy said, which caused Grover's ears to turn pinker than they already were in embarrassment. "Look, I-I'll explain later, okay? I promise. It's just, um, it's not safe to discuss this right now.", Grover said.
