TW: blood (just a little).
Hope you enjoy this.
It was finally the day that Grimmel was going to leave. He had only been there for a few weeks, but Frida was happy nonetheless.
Frida was just exiting the kitchen after a good meal when an exploding pain went through her head. She felt like it was going to explode.
She fell to the ground while holding her head and groaning. This wasn't the same pain that Grimmel gave her with that weird device. This was so much worse.
"Frida get up from the floor," she heard Chaghatai say in an irritated voice.
Frida couldn't speak. The pain was too much. It felt like her head was being pressed against two Gronckles, and like something or someone was trying their hardest to split her head open to get whatever memories or thoughts that she had.
She let out a scream as the pain intensified, and she could faintly hear a roar.
"Where... Is... Shadow?" Frida managed to say through gritted teeth.
"Grimmel said he wanted to try something," Chaghatai said, he actually sounded worried.
"Take me to him," Frida said through pants.
Chaghatai helped her up and led her to the front of the boat. The pain got even more intense and she felt tears stream down her face. She could barely keep her eyes open. But she did, and she saw a huge, gray, Bewildrebeast. Its antennas were vibrating and when Frida looked down she saw Shadow struggling on the ground. She also saw Drago holding up his spear, pointing it at the dragon, and her father standing to the side.
"Nice of you to join us," Grimmel said with evil lacing his voice.
Drago turned to her, he had anger and hatred written across his features, but they softened once he saw Frida.
"What is wrong?" He asked.
Frida didn't answer and began to walk towards Shadow while still covering her ears. Her feet felt like they were made of cement as she walked towards her roaring dragon. It hurt her very soul to see him in so much pain.
Frida finally reached him and placed a hand on his head. He looked up at her with pain in his eyes. She let go of her head and hugged his, trying her best to cover his ears.
The pain surprisingly stopped, the only thing she could hear was a low humming sound in her ears. She didn't dare to let go of Shadow and kept hugging him until the humming sound was completely gone.
Frida let go and looked into Shadow's eyes. He looked terrified, not only for himself but for her. Frida slowly moved to his neck and laid down, hugging him tightly.
"You just had to ruin it," Grimmel said.
"Leave it Grimmel," Drago said in a threatening tone and walked over to Frida. She flinched as he extended his hand and she saw the pain in his eyes.
He knew what he had done. He had promised not to hurt her or her dragon, and now he had broken both of his promises.
Frida couldn't bother to feel sorry for him at that point. Her head was still throbbing and she could feel her heartbeat in her ears. Speaking of, she was pretty sure she was bleeding from them as she felt something sticky run down her face.
"I am so sorry," Drago said. He was being genuine, but Frida's head was not in the right state to trust him at that point. The only thing she saw was a bigger, scarier version of her father.
"She won't let you in Drago, you destroyed her trust. You need to be smarter. Do like me," Grimmel said, full of confidence.
"You do realize that he is smarter than you, right?" Frida said.
