Drago was not happy when Frida got back empty-handed. She had never seen him so angry, throwing his spear at the wall and smashing a table. She had gotten out of there as fast as possible to not get harmed herself.
Frida wanted to apologize to him. She didn't mean to anger him, she just didn't want him to kill another dragon. She didn't want him to take over the world for that matter but she had given up the idea to change his mind about that.
She was walking towards the meeting room to try and apologize to Drago and maybe get him to change his mind when she heard voices talking. She didn't mean to be noisy but she heard her name, so she just had to listen.
"She failed. Horribly! Had she not been one of my troops she would either be punished or executed for what she did," it was Drago talking. Frida felt tears in her eyes as he talked.
"She might not have seen anything Drago, you can't jump to conclusions," Griselda said.
"She had clearly seen something. Her mask was partly broken, she was sweaty and it was obvious she wasn't telling the truth," Chaghatai said.
"Since when did you observe the girl?" Griselda questioned him.
"I picked up a few things here and there. But the point is that she is not telling the truth, she is holding something back, something important," Chaghatai said.
"He is right. She didn't tell us the whole truth. She doesn't want to. She is cozy with dragons, a problem really. She sees the good in all of them and would rather die than let them die," Drago said.
"Then she is one dragon traitor. She has killed hundreds of them, some in front of us, and Grimmel himself said she helped kill when she was with him," Chaghatai said.
It was true that she had killed dragons, both with her father and with them. The venom had a bad habit of suddenly popping up which led to her following the one order her father put in her head. Kill.
"She is our best weapon, so we can't kill her. We need her in our army so that she can help us succeed," Chaghatai said with determination.
Frida waited for any of the others to tell him that she wasn't an object for war, but nothing came.
"We can't know for certain if she is fully able to kill when the time comes. Drago, we are going to have to use it," Chaghatai said.
Use what? What was he talking about?
Frida felt her heartbeat beat faster and faster.
"No! Absolutely not! We can convince her another way. Drago, we promised not to ever be like her father. We promised she would be safe," Griselda argued.
"I would rather see dragons suffer than protect one stupid girl," Drago said. Frida felt her heart shatter. So that was all she was. A stupid girl. "We will use the drug when it comes to it. We can't risk losing."
Frida walked away from the door in terror. They were going to drug her, just like her father. To win some stupid war!
She had to get out. She had to escape.
Frida ran to her room and packed all her belongings into a bag. She didn't own much so the bag was pretty light.
She ran out of her room before she felt herself being stopped.
"Let me come with you," Agnes said.
Frida just nodded. She wouldn't leave the lady here with Drago. Not when he was like this.
The two walked out of the ship and quickly found Shadow's cage.
"Hey, bud," Frida said and opened his cage. He stretched and walked out. He could clearly sense her distress.
