Chapter 5

Bumungad kay Mila ang bodyguard ni Mateo pagkabukas ng elevator. The big man in black polo and pants nodded politely at her.

"Hatid namin kayo, Ma'am."

"No need. I already called a ride."

Lumabas siya ng elevator pero humarang ulit ang lalaki. Mapaumanhin ang ngiti nito. "Sorry, Ma'am, pero ang bilin po ni Sir ay ihatid namin kayo."

Binuka niya ang bibig para magprotesta, pero pagod na siya. The fact that she was not wearing panties didn't help. Or that heat still flickered beneath her skin.

She closed her eyes briefly to calm herself then looked at the man again.

The man looked afraid she would insist not to let them drive her to her condo.

Napabuntong hininga si Mila. The man was just doing his job, and Mila wouldn't put it past Mateo to fire his bodyguard just because the guy failed to do his orders.

Matamlay siyang tumango. "Okay, thank you."

Tumango rin ang lalaki at pinauna siyang maglakad.

"I'm Mila," aniya.

Mukhang nagulat ang lalaki sa pagpapakilala niya. "Ronaldo po, Ma'am."

"Nice to meet you, Ronaldo."

Ngumiti ang lalaki, at nabawasan ang pagiging seryoso ng mukha nito. "Ron na lang, Ma'am."

"Mila na rin lang."

Alangang tumawa ang bodyguard ni Mateo. "Ma'am Mila na lang po."

Tumango siya at tahimik silang lumabas ng gusali. She got into the same luxury vehicle they had used to get to Mateo's building, and she gave Ron her address.

Ilang minuto lang ang biyahe dahil nasa BGC din ang kanyang condo. She and Mateo were practically neighbors.

When she got into her condo, she went straight into the shower. The images of what happened inside Mateo Vidal's pad flashed in her mind.

Her skin heated, and she felt her nipples stiffening, the flesh between her thighs swelling.

Mariin siyang pumikit.

Exhausted, she got into bed with her hair still wet.

Kahit na pagod, maaga pa rin siyang gumising. May appointment siya sa spa kasama si Shaya. She checked her emails and social media accounts and sighed in relief when she saw no posts about her and Mateo's scene in Saturnina.

Sunod niyang sinipat ang mga social media pages ng kapatid. Wala pa rin itong bagong post. Dati ay araw-araw nagpo-post ng kung anu-ano si Alyanah, pero simula nung bomb announcement ng mga pamilya nila tungkol sa engagement nito kay Mateo, halos magkulong sa silid nito ang kapatid at tumigil din sa pag-post sa mga social media accounts nito.

Mila pressed her hand to her chest and lightly rubbed it.

The grim effects of the engagement to her sister were tangible.

She greeted everyone good morning in their family's group chat, but she also sent another text message to her sister telling Alyanah good morning.

Getting up, she forced herself to start her day.

Her condo unit was her sanctuary, and she had designed it with her usual neutral shades and comfy furniture. Hindi kasing laki ng kay Mateo ang kanyang unit, pero maluwag pa rin iyon. It had four bedrooms, and she converted two of them into guestrooms and the last as her walk-in closet, where she also allotted an area that served as her creative space and home office. May space din sa second-floor para magsilbing entertainment center at may staff room din sa ibaba.
