"Well, what about you Tubbo?" "Huh?" Tubbo asked, pulling from Ranboo after sitting in silence for who knows how long. "What happened with you two? I mean, you both went through adoption agencies, but that's as much as I've got besides bits of Tommy's nightmares." Ranboo asked, turning toward the sink to wet a washcloth. "Well," Tubbo hesitated, "my mom was a stripper. And abusive. But my dad loved her. She ended up dying of overdose when I was 6." Tubbo looked at Ranboo, hoping he would interrupt, but he just got a curious look from Ranboo as they turned to wipe down the coffee table. "After my mom passed, my dad who had been loving, turned to beer. He became abusive, and as much as my sister cared for me, I ran away. Got thrown into the system, obviously, since I was 13 and living on the streets. That's when I met Tommy." He paused, and looked at Ranboo, beckoning for a response.

"Ranboo?"

"Oh, sorry Tubs," Ranboo murmured whilst getting up from the coffee table. "I was invested in your story and started thinking. What do you know about Tommy's backstory?"

"As far as he's told me, his parents both died in a car accident, he was the only survivor. He was 8." Tubbo let this hang in the air as Ranboo became visibly rigid. "He jumped abusive foster home after the next till him and I ran away when we were 14. Then we met you." Tubbo expected a response, but didn't get one.

"Ranboo?"

Tubbo was startled as Ranboo swung him up into a tight hug. "I love you. So much. And Tommy. Nothing's going to happen to either of you again, understand?"

"Ranboo..." but before Tubbo could say that he couldn't promise that, he met his eyes and knew that Ranboo believed he could.

And would, sure as hell, die trying.

"I know Ranboo, I know."
