Chapter 20: Old Friends

Midnight wakes up from hearing noises coming outside of the area that she was in. Midnight flinched, opened her eyes, growled, and wondered who was outside her and Megatron's area box. Midnight groans and hears familiar voices that she recognizes immediately. What are Amelia and Ethan doing here? growled Midnight and questioned what the two humans were doing here. I hope they do not come here and check this box. Midnight growled even more and then heard the voices coming closer. Midnight stops snarling, and someone is coming closer. She flicks her ears and then hears footsteps coming over to her area.

"Come on, Ethan, I know we are looking for experiment animals," replied Amelia, and Ethan shook his head.

"I understand, Amelia, but we need to be careful with each animal because some are not friendly," said Ethan.

"I know, Ethan, but we need to help animals after Silas and his scientists kicked us out," replied Amelia, and Ethan grumbled. "We will continue working with Madison, who joined our group. Since Agent Fowler asked us to join his group and see if they are alright and erase the effects that they have."

"I agree with you, Amelia," said Ethan and sighed. "I hope we find some animals here."

Amelia nods and looks around the area. She stops when she sees a tail sticking out of a box. Amelia taps Ethan's shoulder, and Ethan turns his head and looks at Amelia. Amelia points to what she saw, and Ethan looks over at the box. His eyes went wide when he saw a tail sticking out.

"We have to be very careful," whispered Ethan, and Amelia looked at him and nodded. 

Amelia slowly walks over to the box. Midnight hears someone walking closer, and she starts to growl a little. Amelia stops and wonders who else is in the box. Amelia looked inside and gasped when seeing Midnight.

"Midnight," replied Amelia, and Ethan flinched when remembering that Amelia did name the two sisters. "What are you doing with..."

"What's wrong," asked Ethan in wonder.

"She is with the leader of the Decepticats," answered Amelia, and she could not believe what Midnight was doing with the leader of the Decepticats.

Ethan's eyes went wide, and walk over to her and looked down at the leader.

"He is still breathing, but he is knocked out," said Ethan.

Midnight gives them both a mean look and protects him. 

"Midnight, we are here to help," reassured Amelia, wondering if she should touch Midnight.

Midnight hissed and looked at Amelia. Amelia stopped moving her hand forward and wondered what she should do. Midnight stops growling and flinches when sensing Amelia's wondering thought. Midnight sighs and continues to look at Amelia and Ethan.

"Come on, we can help you," replied Ethan, giving Midnight a mean look. Midnight looks at Ethan and growls. "Come on, Amelia, we are not wasting our time with a cat who will only let him die."

Ethan gets up and moves. Midnight flinches and watches Ethan, then Midnight looks over at Amelia, who sighs, and gets up to speak with Ethan. Midnight stops growling and sighs, and she looks down at Megatron. He is going to hate me for what I am about to do, thought Midnight, and she sighed, stepped out of the box, and saw Ethan and Amelia walking away.

"Wait," cried out Midnight, and she could not believe what she was about to do.

Amelia and Ethan both stopped talking to each other. They both looked behind them and saw Midnight looking up at them. 

"Would you help, please," asked Midnight. 

Amelia looks over at Ethan, who sighs. Amelia looks back at Midnight and nods. She walks to her car and grabs a blanket, and then Amelia goes to the box to carry Megatron in a blanket. Midnight watches and follows them. Ethan sighs and picks Midnight up. Midnight yelped, and she was not happy about being picked up. Midnight was plopped down in the back seat with Megatron. Ethan and Amelia got into the car and drove to Amelia's house. Ethan and Amelia live together, and Agent Fowler's agents protect them. The house is massive and can hold many creatures with a laboratory. Midnight watches everything pass by while they are driving on the road. Midnight looks away from the window, looks down at Megatron, sighs, and wonders if he is alright. Midnight sighs and returns to looking outside, hoping it is not far away. The car reaches the driveway, and Midnight looks up and sees that it is not far from where she was supposed to get home with the rest of the Decepticats. Midnight jumped out of the window, and Ethan opened the door and picked up Midnight. Amelia picks up Megatron, and both humans carry the two cats into the house. Midnight looks around, and then Ethan plops Midnight down. Midnight watches him leave, and then she looks over at Amelia, who calls Ethan to help her.
