Chapter 29: Unexpected Surprise

Five Earth Months Later

The snow started in late November, which is the usual time of the year. Winter is over, and spring is coming around the corner. Midnight had joined the group in late August and stayed with them for the rest of the year. It is now March, and spring is the most beautiful time of the year. Wildbreak is almost one year old and excited to play, go outside, and spend some time with his parents. During the wintertime, Megatron has sent out a couple of patrols. Shockwave has created another machine, which is the ground bridge. Megatron wants to send out certain groups to find another base so they can move back and forth between the two. More supplies will be going in and out of two areas. The next area will be something interesting which is a small place but has a lot of rooms. It has a massive bunker laboratory in one underground area, another sleeping area if something goes wrong or if there is no room for anyone, and a second floor with a control table in one area while the other two rooms have storage rooms. 

After the ground bridge was done, Megatron ordered some Vehicats to scout the area. Midnight sighs and remembers that she has spent much time with Megatron. She has stayed with him for about eight months straight. Midnight grumbles and wonders if she will have kits. Midnight shakes her head when thinking that she might have kits. Midnight sighs, remembering it will take her a long time to get kits for Megatron. Midnight sighs again and is in her room and wonders if she should come with Megatron and the others since they are heading over to a new base. A lot of movement is going on downstairs, and Midnight watches it from above on the second floor. I am always curious about what the new base looks like, wondered Midnight and tried to figure it out. Midnight grumbles a little, heads onto the roof, looks around, and sees birds flying around. Midnight sighs and decides to head back downstairs into her room. So Midnight turned around and led to the big vent to get into her room. Midnight climbs down on the boards and is in her room. Midnight grumbles and wonders what everyone is doing. Midnight sighs and heads to the main room to see if anyone is there. Midnight goes over to the big vent where everyone usually turns themselves in for the night from the orders of Megatron. 

Midnight rolls her eyes, heads into the big vent, and then comes out of it and is in the turn-in area where all the Vehicats sleep for the night. Midnight grumbles then hears something and heads over to the main room. Midnight looks around and sees Wildbreak playing around. Starscream watches from a distance and rolls his eyes whenever Wildbreak says something stupid. Starscream grumbles and flicks his ears when hearing something from the turn-in area. Starscream looks in that direction and sees Midnight looking over at him. Midnight grumbles a little, looks at Wildbreak, and raises her eyebrow. Starscream grumbles and wonders if having a word with her is right. Starscream sighs and shakes his head, and decides not to. Then he hears a growling coming from somewhere. He spots Megatron growling at him, and Starscream puts his ears down and crouches down a little. Midnight hears something and sees Starscream getting scared of Megatron. Hmm, well, he might have done something stupid. So I am not going to question it, grumbled Midnight and rolled her eyes at Starscream. Midnight looks over at Wildbreak, and he sees her, and he smiles. Midnight also smiles when she sees him. Knockout is talking with Breakdown, and they are having a conversation. Wildbreak gets bored and wonders what he should do since he does not want to play with the ball of yarn and looks over at his father and Papa. He goes over to them and wonders what he should do. Midnight watches him and she grumbles. She looks over at Starscream and flicks her ears when she sees him injured again. Midnight rolls her eyes, sits up, and walks into the turn-in room. Why am I so tired today, grumbled Midnight, and she sighed and decided to head into the big vents. Midnight goes into the vent and then exits into her room. Midnight yawns, and she goes over to her bed and lays down. Midnight grumbles and falls asleep from exhaustion.
