Chapter 18: Missing?

After they were both done spending some time together. Laserbeak came into the room and opened the weird vent. Megatron and Midnight both looked up at it.

"You may go check it out," said Megatron, and Midnight looked at him and nodded.

Midnight walks forward and tries to figure out how to get to the highest places. Then an idea came into her mind. Midnight ghostly dashed to the vent, grabbed it, and climbed inside. Megatron and Soundwave watched her go into the weird vent and use her new ability. Midnight looked around and wondered what was in the vent. Midnight stopped when she saw something interesting. Midnight cocks her head and finds a piece of paper. Midnight unwraps the piece of paper and opens it up. Midnight's eyes went wide when seeing that it was a code. I have found a code to the office, thought Midnight, and she smiled. Midnight wraps it back up and picks it up with her mouth. Midnight carries it, and she looks down and sees Shockwave and Soundwave talking. Midnight looks around the room and sees that Megatron is nowhere to be found. I guess he left, thought Midnight, and she sighed. Midnight drops the thing to the ground. The two cats stopped talking with each other, and they looked up at Midnight.

"Found something interesting," replied Midnight with a smile, and she opened a shadow portal and got inside. 

The shadow portal opens up inside Megatron's room. Midnight walks in and goes over to the piece of paper. Midnight picks it up and carries it to Soundwave and Shockwave. Midnight puts it back on the ground. Shockwave wonders what it is, and then he opens it up. 

"Interesting," replied Shockwave, and he was very curious about where the piece of paper came from and what it was doing in a vent. "These look like codes."

"I think they are codes for the locked office," said Midnight.

Soundwave looks over at her, wonders what she meant by that, and then remembers that the office needs a key or code to get inside. Soundwave nods, and he takes the paper. Shockwave looks over at him, and he nods. Soundwave sighs and walks off to put the code in. And to figure it out since it was all in letters. Midnight and Shockwave watch him leave, and they look at each other. 

"I will be returning to my lab," replied Shockwave. "Call me if you need me."

Midnight nods and Shockwave leaves the room. Midnight sighs and decides to check up on Knockout and Breakdown, who are with their youngster Wildbreak. Midnight sits up and walks out of the room. She heads straight and enters with Breakdown and Knockout. Midnight looks around and sees that only Knockout is in the room with Wildbreak. Midnight sighs, and she walks forward very slowly. Knockout is awake, looking around the room, and wonders how long that Breakdown will take. Knockout looks at the room entrance and spots Midnight coming in.

"Hi, Midnight," meowed Knockout, and he smiled.

"Hi, Knockout," replied Midnight, and she sighed.

"I heard that Megatron and Starscream are out doing a mission," said Knockout, and Midnight sighed and nodded. "Don't worry. They will be back soon."

"I hope Starscream does not do something stupid," replied Midnight.

"He probably will. But Big M can handle him," meowed Knockout and Midnight sighed. "Anyway, I am going to get some sleep."

Midnight grumbles and then nods, and she turns around and leaves the room. I remembered Megatron telling me that if we both got separated. We should look up at the stars and see the brightest one in the sky, thought Midnight, and she sighed, opened her shadow portals, and went into the portal. She enters her secret room, goes past her bed, and goes up the more oversized vent leading to the roof. She goes up to it and is on the top. Midnight goes over to drink some water, and she stops drinking water. Then she walks past the bucket and goes to the edge end of the warehouse. Midnight looks up at the sky and sighs; she sees it is late afternoon. Guess I will sleep until the time passes, thought Midnight, and she sighed. She gets up and walks across the roof, and reaches the vent. She goes inside and heads down to the wooden board. Midnight climbs into her bed, lays down, and curls into a ball. I hope you return very soon because I don't want to lose you, mewed Midnight, and she has her ears down.

A week passed, and then she heard call-outs from the main entrance. Midnight flinched and wondered who was here right now. Midnight rushed down to the vent since she was on the roof. Midnight goes inside the vent and enters her private area. I should probably head into the vents to see what is going on, meowed Midnight. She sighed, went into the vents, and wondered what the commotion was about. Midnight also wonders if Starscream and Megatron have returned. Midnight goes into the vents and crawls through the vents. She stops and looks down and sees only Starscream. Midnight raised her eyebrow and wondered where Megatron was. Midnight crawls through the ducts to reach the second floor of the main room. Midnight exits the vent and walks through, and then she stops when she sees everyone speaking with each other.

"So Megatron is missing?" growled one of the Vehicats.

"We should send out a search party," pointed out the other Vehicat next to him.

Many Vehicats want Megatron back because they do not want to be led by Starscream again. Starscream growled and shouted at them. Shockwave and Soundwave broke up the fight, and they all broke up the fight. Midnight flinched, and her ears went down when hearing that Megatron was missing. What happened to him? Wondered Midnight with a questioning look of sadness. Midnight looked at Shockwave and Soundwave, and they quieted down everyone in the room. Shockwave and Soundwave both agreed that they would send out a search party to see if they could find Megatron anywhere. Starscream said something otherwise, making Midnight flinch, and Starscream did a little grin. So he was the reason that Megatron was missing, thought Midnight when figuring out his movement and emotions. Traitor. Midnight's ears went back up and growled. 

Starscream looked around and saw that everyone was in the room except for Midnight. Starscream raised his eyebrow and wondered where she was right now. Starscream then looks up and sees Midnight. Midnight flinched when Starscream looked up at her. Midnight stopped growling and rolled her eyes. She sat up and walked back inside the vents. Midnight crawled through, and when she reached her private area. Midnight started to tears, and she wondered where Megatron was and what had happened to him. I will have to find him, but it will be a problem leaving the area, thought Midnight, and she sighed. Midnight climbs into her bed, lays down, and curls into a ball again. Midnight closes her eyes and goes to sleep.
