Chapter 4

Bucky woke up before Isabelle, he had fallen asleep on a chair beside Isabelle's bed. He left to have a shower and get changed for the day. Today would be hard on Isabelle, because however much Bucky wanted to let Isabelle forget Jack, the Avengers needed answers. And they needed to deal with him. Bucky headed out to the kitchen, grabbing breakfast. He was eating peacefully by himself when he heard a voice call his name. Bucky got up and realised the voice belonged to Isabelle. "Bucky?" the voice got more frantic. Then he started running to Isabelle's room. He knocked on the door before going in. Isabelle relaxed as soon as she saw him. "I-I didn't know where you were," she said quietly. Bucky then remembered the conversation yesterday night. "It's ok. I won't leave you. Ever," Bucky said, his eyes softening. Isabelle nodded, and she wiped her tears away. "Do you want to get dressed and have breakfast?" Bucky asked. Isabelle nodded and Bucky left to go to the kitchen. Not before asking Isabelle. So Isabelle got dressed and went out. She had cereal, and after she had finished, Bucky took a deep breath. "We need to know all about Jack, what he did, to you and anyone else. We also need to know if you have any family members who can take you in..." Bucky said, his voice trailing off at the end. He didn't realise it, but Bucky wanted Isabelle to stay. Isabelle looked away but nodded. So she told him everything. Tony came in when she was talking, but Bucky just glared at him. "Jeez, I'm just getting coffee," Tony said, putting his hands up. "Well make it quick," Bucky said, still glaring. Once Tony left, Isabelle continued. "Well, it started with glances at my body and walking in on me while I was changing. He never apologised, and when I told him to stop, he just did it more. When I started questioning him, he pulled me out of school. Then at the start of the year he umm- he," Isabelle said. "He started to rape you?" Bucky finished. Isabelle nodded, looking down. "I just don't understand why he would do that," Isabelle said quietly, more so to herself. "Because he is a jerk, and stupid. And jerks do bad, mean things," Bucky said, glaring at the wall. He was thinking of HYDRA. "Do... do you think I had something to do with it?" Isabelle asked quietly. She asked it so quiet that a normal person would've missed it. But Bucky wasn't normal. He looked horrified. "No!" he exclaimed. "Do you think that?" He said that part more softly. "Well... I had to do something to make him want to do it to me," Isabelle explained. "No," Bucky said firmly. Isabelle shrugged. She wasn't looking at Bucky. "Hey... look at me. Please?" Bucky asked, putting a hand on her shoulder. Isabelle reluctantly lifted her eyes to meet Bucky's. "You didn't do anything wrong. All you did was be yourself. He decided to rape you. You didn't agree to that. It was his decision, but you didn't do anything. He just decided to be mean," Bucky said, staring straight at her. Isabelle shrugged again. "Do... do you know the history of the Winter Soldier?" Bucky asked. Isabelle looked confused, but she shook her head. "Well that was me, but not anymore. Anyway... an organisation took me away and brainwashed me. They took me just because I was there. They injected stuff into me, and I had to do what they said. I didn't know what I was doing, they forced me. I killed. A lot of people. On their orders. I wouldn't have done it otherwise. When I finally broke free, Steve and all the other Avengers, well... except Tony, but he finally caved in. Anyway, Steve told me that it wasn't my fault that I killed all those people. It was the organisation. I was just there at the wrong place and wrong time. So listen to me when you did nothing. You were just there like me. The wrong place, wrong time. You couldn't do anything about it, okay?" Bucky said. Isabelle slowly nodded. "Okay..." she said. "Good. Do you want to continue watching some movies from yesterday?" Bucky asked. Isabelle's face lifted a bit and she nodded.

Summary- Bucky and Isabelle had breakfast and she told him all about Jack. Isabelle kinda thought she did something to provoke Jack, but Bucky said otherwise. He told her all about the Winter Soldier, and how Steve said it wasn't his fault.
