Isabelle went home, still feeling conflicted about Blake, but less so about Natasha. For some reason seeing Blake reminded her of Jack. She didn't know why, because they were polar opposites and Blake was comfortable to be around. But she was a little nervous being around him, and that in itself was unnerving.
A couple weeks later, there was a knock on the door. Bucky opened it to reveal Clint standing there.
"You're back?" Bucky asked, wondering why Natasha had not called him.
"Yes. I came to talk to you. It's Nat... The mission brought up her past and she had to take down some people she had not seen in a long time... she might be a bit out of sorts for a while. Be gentle with her will you please?" Clint explained. Bucky looked at him.
"Of course. I would never hurt her."
"Thank you. She's my friend and I know when she is struggling but I think I can't help her this time. Thank you again but I better be going I was only here to talk to you briefly, we have to talk to Fury. Just give her some space for a bit before you go to see her." Bucky nodded and said goodbye and the archer walked away.
Isabelle had gone into the kitchen while Bucky was talking to Clint and overheard the conversation. Isabelle was worried for Natasha. She cared for her in one way or another and just wanted her to be okay. Isabelle also wanted to talk to her about Blake, and ask her some things that had been on her mind. Knowing that Natasha needed a bit of space, Isabelle didn't go to see her until the weekend.
Meanwhile Bucky had to see Natasha. He went over to the tower the day after they got back. He knocked on the door and entered. Natasha was on her bed staring out into the city skyline. She looked over her shoulder and when she saw it was Bucky she resumed her original position. "I heard you got back from the mission. How was it?" Bucky asked. "It was a mission," Natasha replied. "Was it hard?" he tried again. She shrugged. "Just a mission," she answered. "I have to go, I have stuff to do." She got up and moved for the door. Bucky moved over to her. "I haven't seen you in two weeks. Did you miss me? At all?" he asked. Natasha stared at him. "No," she finally said and moved around him to leave.
