Feild Trip

A few months later

Papyrus

"Sans! Sans!" Asriel came running in as my brother was getting a cup of coffee. They were running some tests on a project of theirs today so they were getting some decent sleep today instead of the 2 to 3 hours they usually get. "sup kiddo?"
"Mom says we can't go on the field trip anymore.."
"mm? why not?" Field trip? "Mr. Whimsum is to scared to go, we need a second adult to watch so many kids she said."
"I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, HAVE OFF TODAY AND CAN COME IF YOU WOULD LIKE!" I offered. There was no point to spoiling the children's fun. "Really!?!" Asriel's eyes lit up the way children's do when excited. "OF COURSE! I LOVED FIELD TRIPS WHEN I WAS YOUR AGE! GRANTED THE UNDERGROUND IS A LOT SMALLER, BUT STILL!"
"welp. there ya go, kiddo. problem solved." Sans checked his watch. "i gotta go. see ya later, guys."
"GO BYE BROTHER, YOU, DAD, AND ALPHYS STAY SAFE!"
"see ya." Sans disappeared around the corner. "SO WHERE ARE WE GOING ON THIS FIELD TRIP ANYWAY?"
"The lab!"

We went to find Lady Toriel and tell her the great news. Chara and Frisk were pleading with her. "Come on Mom! I wanna see things blow up!" Chara begged. "Most certainly not!"
"WONDERFUL NEWS HUMANS! I WILL BE CHAPERONING WITH LADY TORIEL SO YOU CAN GO ON YOU'RE FIELD TRIP!"
"Oh, would you Papyrus? The children have been wanting a field trip for a month now, but the board has been.. difficult. I was lucky to even get a trip for the lab." Lady Toriel smiled. "I'M MORE THAN HAPPY TO HELP! THOUGH I DOUBT IT'LL BE ANYONE WE KNOW LEADING US AROUND. SANS WAS SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT TESTING A PROJECT TODAY."
"I see. Probably not then. The lab is blast proof, is it not?"
"INDEED! FATHER HAS PRIDED HIMSELF IN THE LABS SAFETY PROTOCOL! EVERYONE WILL BE SAFE SO LONG AS WE STICK TOGETHER!"

Dr. Gaster

"How's everything?" I asked as I readjusted the time setting to the closest and easiest setting. It should be good enough for the first test trial. "just running the last check now." Sans called. He still voiced his concern to me about this project, but what could possibly go wrong? "E-everyth-thing looks g-good on my e-end." Alphys replied. She had been surprised by the finsh of the first prototype, and was rather excited to test it. "Good. Well start the test in 15 minutes."
"doc, are you really sure ya wanna do this? i've got a bad feeling about the whole thing." I put a hand on Sans shoulder. "It will be ok, Sans. Stop worrying so much and bask in the fact that we may have vast access to timelines throughout time and space."
"you're not listening, g-"
"I am, and your simply worrying to much! It's just us and the reception here today, Noone can be harmed except for us, and we are safe in this blast proof trial room. That is that." Then Sans shoved past me. "Sans wa- Papyrus!?" I went after him.

Papyrus

During the trip, one of the children had run off. I went to look for them while the rest of the class waited in the lobby with Lady Toriel and the receptionist. "HUMAN! HUMAN, PLEASE COME OUT! I WILL NOT HARM YOU!"
"papyrus!"
"SANS?"
"what are you doing here? you shouldn't be here-"
"A CHILD DISSAPPEARED. I FEAR THEY RAN SOMEWHERE THIS WAY!"
"There is a child lost in my lab?!" Father seemed very mad. "we've gotta find the kid, before al starts the machine."
The three of us broke off to search different parts of the lab.

Time Remaining 15 minutes

Sans

I check the bathrooms and break room, hoping the kid was just hungry or had to relieve themselves. I couldn't find them though. Maybe they made their way to the simulation room?

Time remaining 10 minutes

Dr. Gaster

I checked the more dangerous parts of the lab to ensure no harm was done the the child. Toriel would murder me and dance on my dust if that were to happen. Luckily, or unluckily, there was no sign of the small being.

Time remaining 5 minutes

Papyrus

I checked the less dangerous areas of the lab, hoping they were just curious about the sciency stuff that goes on in there. Maybe they were just overwhelmed and hiding? That didn't seem to be the case as I found no trace of them.

Time remaining 1 minute

Toriel

I ran one more head count to find all the children here. "Where did you go, my child?" I chided them. "I forgot my sweater on the bus." Then.. papyrus was searching for nothing! "Oh my! I must-" I was cut off as the entire building shook.

Papyrus

I sat up slowly, feeling a little sore. We'd all met up after finding no trace of them, but something blew up and sent us flying across the room. All I remember was a flash of light, in a variety of different colors. It was weird, but I was ok. "FATHER? BROTHER?" I called out as I started to stand. "'m ok bro, m' skull is throbbing though." Now that he mentioned it. I had a bit of a headache too. "I'm glad you boys are ok. I can only hope it's the same for that lost child. "Oh my stars! Are you boys ok?!" Toriel ran over. "WE ARE FINE, LADY TORIEL. WAS THE CHILD FOUND?"
"Yes.. they'd returned to the bus."
"the bus?"
"Why was I not informed of a field trip?"
"THAT'S A GOOD POINT."
"I did tell you a month ago."
"Why was I not reminded?"
"i had no clue about a field trip, doc."
