LEXIE BREATHED HEAVILY AS SHE STARED AT HER BEDROOM DOOR, knowing that the one and only miles fairchild was on the other side of it.

she had no idea what to do, how to react...

she put her shaky hand on the knob before swinging it back open, miles and timothee both turned their heads to face lexie before miles spoke,

"you know, slamming the door in my face wasn't the exact welcome home gift that i expected" miles sarcastically said, causing timothee to snicker a bit while they both looked at her.

she was mute, she couldn't speak.

"how did you two escape?" she managed to shakily choke out,

"again, no hi, hello, how are you?" timothee said once again, she glared at him, they were both pissing her off at the moment.

they never answered any of her questions.

"no, how was prison?" timothee sarcastically asked, lexie deeply inhaled before exhaling.

they were treating the whole thing like a complete fucking joke.

"sorry, how was prison?" lexie sarcastically asked them,

"absolutely wonderful thank you for asking" timothee jokingly said as he rummaged through an old shoebox filled with random objects.

miles eyed lexie up and down, she was leaning against the doorframe with her arms crossed, right foot crossed over the left.

"are you checking me out?" she turned to face him,

"of course not" he said with a smirk on his face, she narrowed her eyes at him, his gaze didn't leave her body.

i hate you.

"sexual tension, sexual tendencies, yada yada" timothee zipped up his bag before throwing it over his shoulder,

"you ready?" he asked miles, miles nodded before they turned around and began walking down the hallway,

"hold on, where are you guys going?" she followed them, they both dropped to turn around and look at her before speaking,

"you think we're staying here?" miles asked as if she sounded absolutely stupid, she felt a frown make its way across her face as she saw him turn around to walk away once again.

"wait—" she said, wrapping her hand around miles' wrist, not even realizing what she was doing, they both flinched as their skin came in contact with one another, miles swiped his hand away.

that was the first time she touched him in seventy one days.

and she wanted to do it again.

"don't leave" she said out loud before her mind could even process what she was saying,

"what's it to you, miss divorce papers?" miles cocked a brow as he asked her, anger behind his indefinite tone of voice.

"uhm..." lexie began saying, but she really didn't know what to say to him, no matter what, miles always left lexie breathless and unable to speak.
