LEXIE HYPER FIXATED ON A LOT, whether it was materialistic or emotional, she always found herself having an attachment to the personality or physicality of someone or something.

she didn't even realize it, but she had terrible daddy issues.

miles noticed though.

she had random episodes where she would act like a defiant teenager almost, in a way where miles had to get her in check like a father—-she looked for that father that she never had within him sometimes.

it's why she was so dependent on him.

it's why she just couldn't let go of him, her dad left and now the only other man in her life was going to leave her... she wanted to cling onto him forever.

because at the end of the day, she still feels like that little sick baby inside of her that wasn't a big enough reason for lexies dad to stay.

when she was seventeen she found that boy in her life, she never had that moment with her dad where he told her that if any guy broke her heart, he would kill them.

"—lex" a voice snapped seventeen year old lexie out of her thoughts as she looked up at the person standing behind her in the reflection of the mirror, miles of course.

"whatcha thinking about?" he asked her, hugging her from behind as he rested his chin on her shoulder with ease—-she thought for a moment before speaking again,

"wondering how the hell i got so lucky to end up with you" she cracked a smile, causing his lips to twitch up into a smile before grabbing her hips and flipping her around to face him, her back resting against the counter as she looked at him.

"you are so beautiful, i literally cant stop looking at you" miles said as he pushed a piece of her hair behind her ear, lexies cheeks flushing out to a slight shade of pink as she stared at him.

"you mean that?" she asked him, giving him unintentional puppy eyes, he nodded with an expression on his face as if it was obvious that he was madly in love with her.

"i promise you i will marry you" he said as he grabbed her face before pressing a very gentle kiss on her lips, she smiled in the kiss—-yet still felt that guilt stab her in the chest.

the deal.

"how are you feeling? i just want to see how your mental health is..." miles trailed off as he laid next to lexie in bed, at their small home in italy—-already being engaged for a month now.

he laid on his side, staring at lexie who was looking up at the ceiling while laying on her back, his fingers slightly sliding up and down her hand in a soothing manner.

"i'm happy" she turned to look at him,

"with yourself? you've been so much more confident lately and i love it" he honestly said as he locked eyes with her, he noticed this recent spark with her where she loved herself, and he loved it.

"yes, i'm just so much happier in my skin now, i don't feel insecure about anything anymore" she said, a smile creeping on her face as she spoke—-she felt like she had finally made it out of the fire.

lexie was actually happy, her life couldn't get any better than this.

"all these years i wished you could see yourself through my eyes so you could just look at how perfect you are" miles said with the happiest expression on his face, causing lexies mouth to fall open as she stared at him.
