Chapter 15

You feel out of place amongst the other Scouts. Kneeling in front of Sasha felt wrong, especially when you are in a Marleyan uniform.

"YN, you're back." she tries to sit up but a scout with short hair makes her lie back down.

"Yes, I'm back."

"Jean and Connie were spouting nonsense how you couldn't remember anything," she coughs a little struggling to breath, "but you remember," you nod lightly, "you remember training in the cadets and stealing extra potatoes with me."

"Yes I remember, save your energy."

Lie.

"You remember when I saved your ass from that Titan and to thank me you stole a hunk of meat from the Commander."

"I remember..."

Lie.

"You remember when we first met Nicolo and how amazing his food is."

"Sasha please save your energy." The girl with the red scarf begs.

You could see her health rapidly declining. You knew she was going to die and all you could do was lie. You try to fabricate memories to content your consciousness but nothing could make you feel less guilty.

"Sasha?" a scout shakes her, "SASHA?"

"WAKE UP!"

You take her hand and yours repeating sorry over and over and over until your throat runs hoarse.

A hand is placed on your back, you look up to see a tearful scout with short black hair.

"You didn't remember, did you?" you shake your head at his question, "it's probably for the best."

You want to cry, you feel obligated to cry but you can not. You try staring ahead, not blinking to try and let the tears flow, nevertheless you cannot.

"YN!" you whip your head around to see two children, "YN HELP!" it is Gabi and Falco.

Your eyes widen.

"You shot...?" Gabi nods her, there is something sinister in her eyes telling you that she does not regret her decision.

I don't know what to do.

You begin to panic internally. Gabi and Falco could end up dead for their crime.

You trudge back through to the section where Zeke and Eren are being held, Falco and Gabi clutching onto arms.

"Sasha is dead."

Eren laughs. Now you remember who Gabi reminds you of.

"She was killed by that girl." All eyes are on Gabi.

"Gabi you never listen do you?" Gabi and Falco's eyes fall onto Zeke. You can tell they now know Zeke is a traitor to Marley.

"YN hand over the kids." The scout with glasses stands in front of you firmly. The change in their demeanour is evident.

"I-" looking down at the two clinging to your arms, clinging to your Marleyan uniform, you wish to protect them but you realise that may not be possible.

"HAND THE CHILDREN OVER."

"Yes Commander." and you let go of the children. It is like someone else has taken over your mind, telling you to listen to the Commander authorities voice.

"YN?" Falco looks up with teary eyes. You feel an ache in your heart as you usher them forward, giving him a look saying that you will not let anything bad happen to him.

"Sorry, I'm really confused-" you hold your hand up to your head soothing your temples by rubbing them.

"Hey Commander Four-Eyes, what you doing!"

"Experimenting, I want to try something on Eren, but he won't help." they moan.

"A yes, the suicidal maniac scarred of a mad scientist, makes complete sense." You joke.

"YN?" They grin, "will you help me?"

They come closer to you, starting to become scarred you back off you run away.

"YN," you turn round to see the shorter man, "I'm Levi Ackerman, I'm a Captain within the Scout Regiment. The regiment that you belong to. I'm sure you have a lot of questions and we are happy to comply." He gives a small smile, something you are sure he rarely gives out.

"Thank you, Capt'n."
