Chapter 39

Riley's pov
"You okay?" Alexis whispered.

"Yeah." I blankly said.

Alexis was taking me home from the hospital.

We reached my house while I sat in the car not wanting to get up.

"Okay up!" Alexis said opening my door and I shook my head no.

She started to try to pull me out but I kept wincing.

"Alexis stop." I mumbled.

"Fine." She said leaving.

Alexis Pov
I traveled all the way to Anna's house knocking on the door.

She came out with a messy bun snd regular sweats with a blue sweatshirt.

"Get your girl out of the goddamn car." I said in annoyance.

She was confused when I grabbed her hand dragging her all the way to where Riley was.

"She won't get up." I said and Riley looked over to see us and she rolled her eyes.

Riley's pov
"I will kill you if you try to move me." I said in annoyance.

"Then I'll be better off dead." She said.

She pulled my seat up making me flinch at the movement.

She grabbed my arm while I tried to pull back she forcefully grabbed it.

"Cmon." She said.

My arm wrapped around her neck as she lifted my leg up.

She got my other leg.

"Wait fuck." I said wincing at the pain in my thigh.

She paused but not letting go.

"Put me down." I said and she shook her head no.

"Anna Put Me. Down." I said and she just smiled at me.

"It's really funny how you try to be imitating." She said and I slapped the back of her head.

She pulled me out of the car and Alexis shut the door before I could even get down.

"Okay nice and easy." Anna whispered.

She held my waist making me tense up.

"Relax and just walk." She said.

"What if I don't want to?" I said and she looked at me.

"Than I'll push you." She said making me laugh a little.

"Cmonnn let's go. Your a soccer player be strong." She said making me kick her leg.

"Yeah Anna be strong." I mocked her.

We made it to my room making me look around. Alexis had gone to basketball practice.

The entire thing was a murder scene. Blood everywhere in the halls and in my room.

I felt myself slowly starting to collapse when Anna caught me.

"You okay?" She asked me.

"Uh... yeah. I need to clean." I mumbled.

"Why... don't we clean this later. You can sleep at my house until then." She said.

"Your sure about that?" I asked her.

"My parents are off for the week. They are visiting my grandparents. Plus they wouldn't mind." She said.

"Umm... yeah sure." I mumbled.

I bent down to grab my phone which was cracked on the edge.

"Here let's grab a couple of clothes... and... you can get whatever you need." She said going into my closet.

"Uhm... Anna." I said leaning on the wall.

I felt dizzy... the blood on my floor snd my hallway walls were making me dizzy.

"Hey hey... it's okay." She whispered.

She held me up not letting me collapse. She was behind me when she slowly let me down on the floor.

Her arms wrapped around me. My head leaned against the wall.

"Just... relax." She whispered.

My body started to relax in her arms.

"Cmon." She said.

She got me to stand up. While she had her hand in my waist in case if I fell again.

"I got some spare clothes." She said grabbing my duffel bag in the corner.

She started to pack a few things while I just stared at the knife that fell on the ground.

"Shit! Harley!" I yelled.

I quickly went out of my room searching for Harley.

I found her laying down in the kitchen.

"No... fuck no Harley." I whispered.

I leaned down next to her as I heard small whimpering from her.

"You need food!" I yelled.

Quickly getting under the sink finding the food.

I got her bowl has I poured some food out.

"Please Cmon eat." I whispered.

"Riley..." I heard.

Anna kneeled down next to me has I was petting Harley.

"I can't lose her..." I said.

"Please Harley. Eat I need you right now." I whispered burying my face in her fur.

"Riley." I felt Anna's hands trying to pull me away.

"No let me go!" I yelled wrapping my arms around Harley.

Her fur was soaking my tears while I sobbed in her body.

I had forgotten all about her and I felt guilty. Because I am guilty...

I could hear her breathing. Her heart still beating.

"Don't leave me please I need you." I said has my voice muffled into her skin.

"Riley... it's... too late." Anna said has I felt myself sob even harder.

"Can... Can we get her to a vet fast enough?" I asked her.

"With you injured we wouldn't have enough time." She said.

"No cmon. Please Anna you don't know how much I need her." I said.

"Riley... it's too late." She whispered.

"Don't fucking say that." I said in anger.

"Please. Do something!" I yelled at her.

She just stared at me as I felt myself starting all over again.

"Anna. Do something!" I yelled.

My face buried back into her fur as I felt her breathing around my arms.

In seconds her body stopped moving. She wasn't breathing. Her heart beat slowed down.

"No no no no. Please." I whispered.

My whole world collapsed right there.
