In which a single, young, 23 year old moves to where she's always dreamt about. No job, no friends until an excited night out.
New friends new love interest? god no. Skye hates the idea of relat...
I finally did it, I moved from England to NewYork. I was so bored in the UK and needed to get away from everyone honestly, I mean don't get me wrong I love my home town I grew up there but it was nothing special.
Bars shut at midnight, Litter every fucking were it was not my vibe for sure.
I wanted to be were the "fancy" people were, drink champagne and walk around in overpriced clothes that made me feel confident. But doing that in the UK would definitely come with its cons. Like cat-calls and being laughed at because you have dress sense.
Don't even get me started on the apartments here in NY because they are gorgeous, full of bright lights, tall buildings I could go on forever but I won't bore you.
I took my first step onto the plane ready for an eight hour flight with baggage in hand full of my favourite books, the airline had free WIFI so I decided to take advantage of it by spending half the journey applying for jobs around NYC.
I spent my school years working on getting my A levels in drama, I spent about three years studying acting. It was a long shot but it's worth trying ya' know?
My ears popped and my hearing was slightly buffered as the plane started to land on the runway, it was a little bumpy but can't complain.
I landed in JFK and beforehand had booked a cab to my penthouse in walk distance of the big apple. The view was stunning and by the time I had finally got there it was almost one in the morning so the view was ten times better.
The view from my apartment-slash-studio was a bridge crossing from a lake that lit up from one side to the other followed by tall buildings with some lights on and some turned off, probably asleep like I should be right now but the view was keeping me awake.
It was just what I had always imagined.
I let out a yawn and my ears popped, finally getting my hearing back to normal. The only reason I hated flying. The ear popping, god, I'd give that up if I had the choice.
I slipped into my pyjamas after a long flight and slept on my corner sofa that was secluded with tall windows around the living room. I had to since I didn't have a bed yet... just a bed spread and pillows.
