HAPPY MAKING MONEY:
A few days went by, after the audition, Jonas said it went well but who am I to say he wasn't lying to not upset me. I didn't have much prep after all so I wouldn't be surprised.
We had a small get together at chases, plus the drinks, it soon turned into a some sort of frat. I fell off the kitchen counter and bruised both my legs. Madelyn somehow managed to bruise both arms, in which the makeup artists on set had a fun time covering.
I put down my miniature iPad down, setting it on my dresser, realising it was almost dinner only to find no food in the fridge. "Mads!" No response. "Maddy!" Nothing, again.
"Marco!" I hear water sloshing. "Polo!" She yells back and I put my ear to the bathroom door. "Out of food" I say bluntly.
I hear her sigh, "damn."
"if your hungry go up to Drews. Bring me something back to!" I agreed and made my way up. We haven't really spoken since the kiss and I don't plan on speaking about it, he won't bring it up.
I let my self in and yelled "honey, I'm home!" I joked. Drew looked up at me from his thick book set on the kitchen counter and smiled. "Hey you." He folds the corner of his page over and closes the book "wassup?"
I lean on the side of the kitchen counter, at eye-line with Drew as he sat on a stool, I gave him a wide smile like a Girl Scout selling cookies. "We're out of food," I pause, looking at him look at me dumbly "happen to have any left overs?" I ask.
He looks down at his watch. "It's 4PM..." I look at him for more explanation. "How have you just realised you have no food." He laughs and I forgot how cute his smile was.
I didn't realise what time it was to be honest I was too worried about a call back from Jonas.
I shrug at him to then he stands up and spins towards the fridge, I follow like a lost puppy to nosy myself, he takes out a container of what looks like risotto. I shake my head and grimace at the thought.
He reached back in and pulls out another container of beef chilli and rice. I turn it down. Drew throws his head back and groans, smiling, "you aren't half picky." He says sarcastically.
I laugh "I'm sorry." He pulls out left over chicken and rice and I happily take it from him. "Finally!" He huffs holding back a laugh.
"Don't laugh at my pickiness" I dig into the chicken and rice. He throws his arms up in surrender and turns back to his book, I steal a magazine he had laying next to him.
Awkward silence creeps me out. I look up at him to see his eyes glued to his book. Concentrated, calm, peaceful.
I smile. My cheeks flush and I turn to my magazine. I look up again. "Your staring. It's rude" he flatlines not looking up from his book.
I toss my head back down. "I couldn't help it, you look so...at peace." I smile. "It's cute."
He clears his throat, shifting in his seat, "we never spoke about..."
The kiss
I wave him off "forget about it, it doesn't matter." Shaking my head "were friends it not awkward." I smile.
We stare at each other across the counter, he's not smiling. "Skye, I don't-"
A phone rings. My phone rings. Shit.I hold a finger up to Drew to say give me a minute. I stand up and walk around aimlessly to answer it. "Hi, skyler speaking."
"Hi it's Jonas! How's everything?" He asks cheerfully. "Um... good, you?"
I ask not knowing we're this phone call is going."Good, good" he repeats. "So, how would you feel about staying in Charleston for another two months?" I gape at Drew, he looks at me confused. "Meaning-"
"Meaning your playing grace, yes!" He explains, "want to?" He asks. I obviously say yes and he tells me how everything's going to work for a good 10 minutes. "You will need to read and sign contracts soon, though."
"Oh? What for?"
"Just for the 'hot and heavy' scenes if you will" he laughs at the way he put it "there aren't many but just so we know your okay with everything." I think until I realise I'm going to have to kiss someone. "Can I ask with who?"
"Who's your love interest?"
"Yes"
"Rafe Cameron" he pauses. "Drew knows about Grace." But he didn't know I auditioned.
Shit. "Okay Jonas, I'll come in the morning to get everything." Meaning scrips. I end the phone.
"Jonas?" Drew pipes up. "Why are you speaking to Jonas?"
Do I tell him? Yes. He'll find out soon anyway. I can't. I have to.
"I'mplayingGrace." I say in one breathe. Drew looks gormless, shocked. "So we're gonna?" He swallows harshly. I nod. "You mean" he swirls his fingers. I nod. He puts his hands to his head, "fuckk" he groans.
Dun dun dunnn
