So I've read over back the story and I've come to realize something about the general and the emperor that lead me to think I can no longer criticize the emperor for who he was.

This is my opinion please you are free to say I'm completely wrong but this is my opinion I just wanted to share them.

So I think the emperor is the perfect Male lead and that his a better fit for the role than the general before you start cursing let me finish.

The general is a perfect spouse he barely has flaws as a lover and a husband and several times Le Huan pointed this out as well if the general and Le Huan had been matched up there wouldn't really be much to their relationship except commitment because both of them would be described as just perfect for each other.

The emperor is perfectly flawed and has many faults as human being I quote 'human being' in history and novels I've read other novels that's similar to mine and think the emperor in the beginning wasn't bad as he could have been because in other stories mc or the original before mc had a near death experience that was initially caused by the mc.

Na Juan was the one who killed himself the emperor said it in chapter 8 or 9 that he could have send Juan to the empress and he would surely have died instead he left him to die off his own I know this doesn't justify his actions I'm not doing that I'm just pointing out him as the reason why his fit for for Male lead.

Remember a very important thing the emperor grew up in a very toxic background where schemed and manipulation happens every day and growing up in such a background makes it hard to trust anyone or thing they don't have an ulterior movie and if anyone of us was raised in such a background we might turn out the same if not worse.

The general had a somewhat normal background growing up but what the emperor has to call childhood has been nothing but pain abuse and lost the emperor is a perfect emperor but not a perfect father or husband.

He never received fatherly love he tries to give the love he never had as a child to his children and look how that turned out Yingjie became a killer before he was 10.

The emperor is a flawed person but his perfect in his own way before Le Huan he treated all his spouses at arms length with equality just keep the peace the emperor wanted peace he is not weak physically but rather mentally he has a sort of Pacifist nature and the spouses used that often against him.

This is were Le Huan comes in Le Huan is kind but not weak he doesn't have a Pacifist nature his not afraid to take someone's life he can be described as a perfect person which goes in contrast to the emperor's imperfect nature.

It's threw Le Huan the emperor becomes a better person and grows to become someone else to become a worthy man of Le Huan he in the story goes through a character development and Le Huan too goes through a character development of accepting others.

Comparing Meilin's relationship with the general is like that of a fairytale while Le Huan and the emperor's relationship is more realistic.

The emperor is not perfect but his perfect for Le Huan since he grown love Le Huan only the emperor is an example of how a person that at the beginning of the relationship isn't perfect and with due time that person becomes perfect for you.

So this is my opinion as to why the emperor is the perfect mc he seems more realistic than people who just seems perfect from beginning to end so yeah that's what I think does anyone agrees.

Or people just still hate him but all I know I like him now.
