The sound of constant steady beeping roused me from my unrestful sleep. It took a couple of seconds for my eyes to adjust to my surroundings once I opened them, but I instantly began to cry from relief when I did. Mia was right there, lying in a hospital bed, alive. My emotions flooded through me as I wrapped my arms protectively around my babygirl and held on for dear life. I was also very aware not to rip out any of the IVs. I just need to be close to her, especially after that fucking nightmare that I had... I never want to go through that ever again. I need her so much and cannot ever lose her.

"Honey, is everything okay?" My mom said, startling me a little bit because I didn't realize she had come into the room.

"Yes, Mom. I just had the worst nightmare, and I needed to hold her and make sure she is alive and safe," I replied, still holding Mia.

"Do you want to talk about the nightmare? I think you should... don't hold those inside again, especially if you can't talk to Mia about it yet," My mom added, and I nodded. I placed a soft kiss on Mia's head and sat back down in the chair beside her. My mom was sitting across from me, patiently waiting for me to tell her what happened in my nightmare. I took a deep breath and began to explain everything.

"It was so vivid and felt so real... Mia died, and I was brought here to the hospital by the officers. Ali showed up, and we were to confirm Mia's body before bringing her personal effects home with me. You and dad showed up along with Brittany and Sara, and we were all devastated, crying, and mourning her. After a while, the officer brought me home, and I received her engagement ring, jacket, phone, and camera, but her phone was dead, so I plugged it in. I declined everyone's calls and ended up dozing off for a while. When I woke up, I turned on her phone and found a video recording she made about a few hours before the accident took place..." I paused and wiped away the tear that had escaped, and I took another breath before continuing.

"She wanted to get married sooner, Mom, and be with me forever. She said she was working so hard to save enough money and make this happen. Mia expressed how much she loved me and cherished what we have, and she had her jokes as well. Her video broke my heart, but I felt so loved at the same time. In the nightmare, she was gone, and I would never be able to hold her or see her light again, and the video was all I had left... I can't ever lose her, Mom. It would break me, and I couldn't survive it..." I finished and noticed that she was wiping away a few tears of her own, which made my eyes water more.

"You know damn well that girl is a fighter, and she needs you just as much as you need her. I am sure you had that dream because of your fear of losing her. I know the scare we had the other day also contributed, but don't dwell on it because she is right there... alive, and she will wake up to you as soon as she is ready," My mom stated as she pointed in Mia's direction. I looked at my girl and took her hand in mine, as we were both silent until my mom spoke up again.

"You okay, honey?" She asked.

"I think you're right about the other day... when Mia coded, and the doctors had to rush in and take her away for immediate surgery... it terrified me. I thought I was going to lose her... it makes sense as to why I would have a nightmare. Except I don't understand why in my dream, she had a car accident when in real life, she fell at work and hit her head," I replied.

"I know, honey. I am glad the doctors could stop the bleed in her brain. An intracranial hemorrhage is no laughing matter. It's understandable that Mia still hasn't woken up since her unfortunate fall at work. I am just glad nothing else has happened to her since then. As for why you'd dream of her having a car accident, there are many possibilities for that, and I think since you were expecting and waiting for her to drive back home, it kind of makes sense," My mom responded, and I nodded, knowing she was right. I stayed silent for a while, thinking until my mom spoke up again.
