On August 24, 2020 at 3:45 pm I lost my father. The nurse came in with a broken expression on her face. She handed me a letter and sat at the end of my bed. She took a final breath before she told me," Rose, I am very sorry but when Lily got home she found your father dead in her arms. Hon, he died from the coronavirus. He was fine but after a week it all went down hill." I couldn't believe what she was saying. How did he die from covid when he had no contact? How did he just die? Wait, when Lily and I were out at the mall one day our friend was coughing on our food. He got the virus from me. This was all my fault. "Rose, we are very sorry for your loss. Is there anything we can do for you?" asked Marie the head hurse, "Could you shut my window curtains from the hall?" I asked, "Isn't that how you talk to Oliver?" she replied, "Please just shut my curtains please." I watched as Oliver's concerned face disappeared behind the dark green fabric that was the hospital curtains. She left the room without another word. I grabbed my phone and called Lily but she didn't answer. Then with no hesitation I threw my phone across the room and watched it crack and fall to the floor. Then my paints and drawing supplies were thrown to the floor because of my anger. My heart rate was going up so fast the doctors ran in to check on me. They looked at each other and left the room realizing what was happening. I held my sheets tightly and ripped the blanket slightly. After 15 minutes of raging and crying I saw a letter at the end of my bed with my dad's handwriting on it. I couldn't bring myself to destroy the letter so I opened it slowly pulling out the expensive sheet of paper that was inside and read the first word.
