I was just finishing my final exam when the nurse walked in. " Rose, the doctors reviewed your test results and we are going to be releasing you next week!" I was shocked. " Release me?" I asked, " Yes Rose, you are completely vaccinated and your cancer is at a stage zero." The nurse responded. I can't believe it. I am finally going to be able to go to Lily and we can go to college the way we wanted to. But I would be finishing the school year online because there is only two weeks left of school.
The days dragged on my last few days at the hospital. I watched the entire series of romantic therapists. Which I definitely regret. I got more into drawing though and wanted to teach others. I had drawn many pictures but most of them had me and Oliver in it. It had been 5 months since we had seen each other in person but we called and texted each other all the time. I looked over towards Oliver'sOlivers window and thought I had gone crazy. "Missed you!" the sign read on the door. Oliver came back! He came all the way back to me! I quickly tried to grab my pencil and paper but he stopped me with his next sign. "Don't talk just listen. Rose, you are the most special person in my life." Then he put another one up, " Rose we have both been through hard times but we did it together and I want to continue that." Each sign he hung up was more romantic and beautiful then the last. Then he hung up so many pictures of us together. One was when we first met, he drew my hair before it fell out. Then he opened his door and walked into my room. He was wearing a prosthetic leg so he could walk to me. He had a couple of signs he brought with him and passed them out to the nurses and doctors in the room. " Rose Edward, I love you with all my heart and I know that it's going to be hard for us in the future but we can get through it together. After we graduate college we can build an art studio for everyone. The disabeled, the creative, and the inspiring people. For you that person is you. Rose Edward..." He said signaling the doctors. Then they flipped their signs up as Oliver went down on one knee. The signs said, " Will....You...Marry...Me?" My eyes filled with tears. Even though I lost my leg and hair that didn't matter to him. He truly loves me and wants to grow old with me. I want to grow old with him too. " Yes, yes a thousand times yes!" I screamed as I hugged him for the first time. He slid the ring on my finger and as he was going for another hug I stopped him. I looked up into his beautiful aquamarine eyes and kissed him. That first kiss felt so magical. Like fireworks were going off. " Let's get you out of this hospital room and to your sister." He said while grabbing my bags for me. All of the doctors were clapping as I was wheeled out of the hospital and into Oliver's car. He drove me to my college so I could see Lily again. I may have neglected to tell her I was released but I am surprising her. Our father saved up money for us to get an apartment our third year of college so Lily was moving her things to the apartment. Once I arrived Lily had left so it was perfect. We moved my things into a bedroom that Lily labeled Rose's room. I heard the front door open and Lily's voice so it was time. I grabbed some paint chips and turned my radio on. When she opened the door I asked her, " Should I go with sunshine yellow or tulip purple?" She froze and tears came into both of our eyes. She ran and we hugged for about a minute. Oliver and Lily' s boyfriend were clapping for us. " Rose, I thought you were still in the hospital? Your cancer?" She said panicking. " The doctors released me because my cancer is at stage zero." I responded. When we held hands I felt something interesting on her hand. We looked down and we saw each other's engagement rings. We gasped at the same time. We freaked out and hugged each other again. " This is Oliver, my finance!" I said while holding his hand. " And this is Andrew the love of my life." She responded. We were both so excited for each other. " Hey what if we did a double wedding?" asked Lily. I looked at Oliver to see if he was against it. " The more the merrier." He said, " A double wedding is a perfect idea." Andrew said. We sat down and got right to work on the wedding plans.
