"These boys are going to be the death of me?" You growled reaching the arena, running down to the fight between the four wolves, "Stop this right now."

Instantly, they all skittered to a stop. Each one looking at you, before they started to speak over each other. You could barely keep their conversations straight.

"I don't care what you all have to say. You're acting like pups fighting over food. It's annoying." You snapped, "I expected more from all of you. From the way you are all acting, I don't think I'll choose from any of you. I won't choose from any of you."

"You can't be serious (Y/N)!" Boris objected making you glare at him.

"Deathly serious." You snapped, "You are all to blame. I don't care if you ruined each other's chances. All of you go home and forget about this. We have more important things to worry about. Such as the up coming meeting with the vampires. I have to prepare for that. I don't have time to babysit jealous pups."

Stating your intensions clearly, you sent them all a final glare before leaving the arena. It will be best if you run the pack alone. Sure you're father and mother are able to rule together and split the jobs, but you can do it all on your own. You hope you can, anyway.

It won't be easy considering you've never dealt with business meeting like this before, with vampires, no less. Changing into a human you marched inside your house. Your parents jumping up when they saw you.

"The fight is broken up. I'm not taking a mate." You explained, then decided to ignore you're parents concerned looks.

"Are you sure. The responsibilities of Alpha are not meant for one person." You're mother whimpered, with a nod from your father.

"You're mother's right and these vampires know that you are new. They will try to take advantage of that at the peace meeting."

"I know." You sighed, "I'll still try my best."

Feeling nervous, you went up to your room to get ready and wait for the meeting. Putting on a business suit, you went over what you were going to say at the meeting. The future of your pack depends on this going well. The thought of something going wrong made your stomach turn.

"(Y/N), Lowell is here to see you." Jumping at your father's call,  you sighed and went down stairs. Raising an eye brow when you saw him standing there in a suit.

"I told you that I wasn't going to take a mate." You growled, though it didn't seem to faze him.

"I know. I'm here to help with the meeting." He explained, "I have been to a lot of meeting like this for my family's business. I can help make sure that the pack will get what we want."

You had almost forgotten that Lowell has done meetings before. He's right about being helpful in that case. Plus it would be easier to have someone with you incase things with the vampires get ugly. Nodding, you glanced out the window. Finding that it was close to sunset, almost time to meet the vampires.

"Then let's go." You agreed, giving a nod to your parents before heading out. The meeting is taking place in a clearing between the arena and the mountains the vampires inhabit. Neutral land that doesn't provide help for either group. Turning into a human when you got closer to the field, you noticed that two vampires were already there. They looked at each other with a grin before speaking in a language you didn't understand. Looks like this meeting is already doomed before it's started.

Jumping at the hand on your shoulder, you glanced up at Lowell, you gave you a reassuring smile, before speaking to them. Shocking both you and the vampires. Though the vampires continued though seeming a little more weary now. Every time they said something, Lowell replied back with ease and confidence. Suddenly, the vampires seemed to have gained some confidence as they looked over at you with a smirk. Once that made you uneasy. Seems Lowell didn't like whatever they said because he wrapped an arm around your shoulders protectively with a deep growl, that made the vampires freeze, even more fear on their faces. They spoke briefly again, before the vampires turned to you again.

"You choose a strong mate this time future alpha. For once, we have respect for your kind." You didn't even get a chance to ask what they meant before they seemed to vanish into the shadows of the dark.

"Let's go back." Lowell hummed, leading you back towards the werewolf territory. You were still confused and concerned about many things though.

"Hold on." You protested pulling away from him, "What was all that? You speak their language? What did you agree to?"

"I only know how to speak their language because my parents made me learn it for the family business. I asked that we take the land towards the east to the river and that we get back any werewolves they had from the war 10 years ago." He explained, " In exchange, we will return half of the prisoners we have. If they didn't agree to that, then I threatened that we would  torture the prisoners and burn their mountain."

"That would have started a war." You gasped, catching his grin.

"No. They are done with fighting as well. They only wanted their loved ones back. Not only that but they saw when me and the others fight in the arena. They fear our strength now and don't want to go through another war with our strength."

"Then we're going to be okay." You grinned, getting excited. Lowell was able to make the meeting go smoothly. He even got more land, which the pack was hoping for and is bringing together families. Putting the pack first, as it should be.

"Why did they grin at me though?" You questioned remembering, that nervous feeling you got from it.

"They tried to take you for their leader, to be his." He growled, now clearly annoyed, "I told them they tried, I would kill everyone of them myself.. They didn't like that idea to much."

"I suppose they wouldn't." You laughed, "You were pretty terrifying back there."

"I wasn't that bad." He faked a gasp, which made you laugh even more.

"Really though, thank you for putting the pack first." You calmed down your giggle fit, "I have to say, I don't think any of the others would have done that."

"Probably not if they don't speak the vampire language." He agreed, before grabbing your hand, "(Y/N),  I want to ask you on a real date. One where you're not being pressured into choosing a mate. If you want to."

Glancing up, you noticed that he was absolutely serious. You never even realized that he was this thoughtful of others.

"Well, that's to bad." You sighed with a small smirk, "I was already going to ask you if you would become my mate. If you just want to date though, okay."

Chuckling as his mouth drop opened, you started to walk away.

"Hold on, (Y/N) are you serious?" He asked chasing after you, though you kept walking, just to tease him a little.

"Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. I do like you would make a great mate since you put others before yourself, but you just want to date." You hummed, grinning when he moved in front of you to stop you.

"I might take back what I said." He grinned, grabbing your hand and kissing it, "I would be honored to be your mate."

"Good." You chuckled, locking your arms around his as you both continued to walk, "I'm still going to expect that date though."
