"i can't believe i'm spending my 17th birthday in lithuania tomorrow" melo complained while picking out a outfit to go train in
"well look at the bright side me and diego are here at least. it could be worse" i said while lying in bed still bc it was only 6:45am
it's been 4 nights and me and melo never ended up moving the beds we were too comfortable sleeping and cuddling with eachother that we just kept them there.
"yeah i guess, but this gon be my first birthday ever with out my mum and zo" he grabbed his durag brining it over to me to put on him
"i know, but you still gonna see them just not irl, i know it's not the same thing but don't let it get you down, only one more year away from officially becoming grown!" i tried to comfort him while tying his durag
"aye i feel like beyoncé rn, 'i'll brush your hair, help you put your durag on'" i sung while laughing referring to Cater 2 U by Destiny's Child
"that's a love song ab your nigga, you realise that?" melo said standing up checking his durag in the mirror
"ok don't make it something it's not" i rolled my eyes laying back down
"aye never said it was a bad thing" he grabbed a water out of the little fridge
"ight imma be back around 9ish ok?" i nodded and he went on his way.
i went into gelos room shortly after, diego had gone to work out bc he's a weirdo and does it early hours of the morning and gelo wasn't going to the training bc lavar told him to stay behind to help me

"gelo you up" i opened the door and he was still in bed on his phone
"morning ky" he replied i walked over to him yawning and got ontop of him
"aye i just wanna get this over with so i can go back to sleep" i said rolling onto my back
we went over the last few details so our plan would run smoothly and secretly
"yawnnn* gelo i'm going back to bed now" i tried keeping my eyes open
"just sleep here, you already here" i nodded and got under with gelo holding onto him as i went back to sleep
we were at a team dinner and the coach invited me and diego which i found nice and welcoming
"so melo, last night of being 16? how are you feeling" the coach said in a thick lithuanian accent
"mmm good" i shoved him in the arm
"uhh i mean it feels weird but i'm happy it's like a new start to a chapter" he said and i nodded in approval
"ky'rah" the coach called getting my attention along with the rest of the table
"yes"
"do you play basketball?" he asked pointing his fork at me, likeeee idc who you are stop that
"umm i can play but not like pro or anything just for fun" he nodded at my response
"what do you like to do" he said with me barely making out what he asked
"oh uhhh, i guess i like to rap and sing, more freestyle tho" the faces of melo and gelos team mates started to make me chuckle to myself
"rap! oh wowwww" he said and i couldn't help but laugh, i could see diego and melo and gelo laughing as well
"yeahhh..." i said, it was so awkward having the whole team focus on me and also being the only girl at the table.
"ok before we go, melo! happy birthday for tomorrow, we won't see you at training so, uhhh have good day, happy birthday melo!" the team cheered and said happy birthday after the coach making melo smile in awkwardness
"thanks guys" he rubbed the back of his neck
in hotel room*
"man that dinner was painful and awkward, i'm just glad they had chicken nuggets and fries" i said laughing as i plugged my phone into the bedside table and getting comfy in bed
"fr that shit was embarrassing asf 'rap! oh wowwww'" he said impersonating his whilst coach laughing
"that was embarrassing asf, their faces looked like they never heard of rap in they life" i said as melo put his phone down getting comfy in bed
"yeah they ain't fans of rap over here, so for a girl to rap that's like- that like unheard of" melo adjusted his durag looking at me laughing
"welp this is officially your last night being 16 dip, hope you had a good time being a 16 year old, you accomplished a lot this year, proud of you dip" i never really did sappy shit but this was and exception
"you made my year better, thank you rah" i hugged him before kissing my forehead and falling asleep with me in his arms
tomorrow was gonna be lit, we had to make it lit for him because he doesn't have his friends, zo or tina here for him so we'll gotta make up for all of them.
