TWENTY SEVEN

[Y/N] [L/N]'S POV

I YAWNED, covering my mouth as i did so. "eh? what time is it..?" i glance outside the window and see that it was still night. i cough, feeling itchy in my throat. "man, my throat's dry...lemme get a water" i mumbled to myself, planning to go down and take a glass of water. 

i get up from my bed and checked on the other side of room to see paimon's happily sleeping. if you come closer, you would heard she's mumbling about being in heaven of food while drooling in the corner of her mouth. i slightly deadpanned before tip-toeing outside. once i was outside of my room, i gulped, "this is dark." 

well, not entirely dark as you can see the house a little from the moon's light. i continue walking to downstairs, making sure i was being quiet as i head to the kitchen room. after successfully tip-toeing sneakily to the kitchen, i finally get to drink a glass of water for my dry and itchy throat. 

as i was drinking, suddenly i heard a sound of something's falling. 

"thud!" 

my hand which was holding the glass almost let it go as i freeze. "what the hell is that what the hell is that what the hell is that." i chanted in my mind, slowly putting down the glass and turned around to the door. the thud sounds doesn't seem to come from right outside the door so i don't have to worried about getting a jumpscare.

"is that aether? paimon? a g-ghost?!" i paled, thinking about ghost which i completely disregard it before i thought worser so i think it's paimon, since i didn't hear any footsteps so there's a possibility that it was paimon, the one who only know how to fly, not walk. i slowly opened the door, head peeking out from the door as i checked left and right for any presence of my friends, but i didn't found any of them. 

"thinking about it, i think the sound is coming from aether's room.." i thought as i sigh in relief, thinking it's probably just aether. i let go of the door knob that i've been tightly hold on and close the door, ready to go to sleep again. 

before that, i go to checked outside the house to see tubby sleeping in her little pot, with her head was put it in. i giggle to myself, thinking how cute it is to see it in real life. moving on, i whispered a goodnight to the bird as i walked away, though she wont heard it. as i was about to walked upstairs, i thinked back about the sounds earlier. 

"should i go check up on aether?" i tilt my head at the thought before nodding to myself. "yeah, let's do that, i get a feelings somehow." 

with that, i walked away from the staircase and head to aether's room. i stand infront of his room and put my ear on it, trying to figure out any sounds. my eyebrows furrowed when i heard a series sounds of low grunts and whimper-like cries.
