I know this is supposed to be a Christmas chapter but I just haven't been feeling it so I've changed the schedule a little bit.
So this is set just after Christmas, first day back at Hogwarts. Bear in mind that Draco (in the Christmas chapter I wrote and hated) spent his new years eve at his house.
Elizabeth's pov
I spent most of the train journey catching up with my friends and didn't get the chance to go and find Draco. I didn't even see him on the platform.
The train pulls up at the platform and there's a mad rush to leave. So I stay in my seat for an extra minute or two to avoid the hustle and bustle of it all. I grab my new bag and once the crowd has died down a little I make my way out onto the platform, crunching my feet along in the snow.
"Hello" Draco whispers, coming up behind me and making me yelp. In the second before I realised it was him I had already moved to hit whoever it was but he caught my wrist.
"Merlin Draco you scared me!" I squeal as he takes my bag from me and pulls me into a warm embrace.
"It's almost as though that was the intention! How peculiar?" He teases and I roll my eyes and fight the urge to calm him a name. "Didn't expect to almost get hit though"
"Hilarious" I deadpan. "I didn't see you on the train"
"Mm, I saw you but you looked rather content having a chat and I'd have hated to pull you away from your friends." He smiles and I snuggle into his side. "I missed you"
"I missed you too. Everything okay with your dad?" I query and he moves his head from side to side. Pulling a face.
"Are you two aware that you can talk and walk at the same time? Because it's freezing" Pansy groans from somewhere behind Draco as she waits with Blaise and I release myself from his hold to run over and hug her too.
"Hi grumpy" I tease, and she scoffs but wraps her arms around me tightly.
"Hi doll" she smiles down at me, smoothing my messy hair. She'd hate to hear it but she can be a bit if a mother hen sometimes, bossing everyone around but making sure everyone's taking care of themselves. She once held a water bottle to my mouth when I was studying so that I wouldn't get dehydrated.
Soon enough we're making our way to the carriages and hopping in. Draco tucks me into his side and I snuggle in close.
"I don't think you two could possibly get closer if you tried" Blaise teases.
"I could think of a couple of ways" Draco retorts, slightly muffled and Pansy smacks his arm playfully.
"That's it. I'm jumping off of this carriage" Blaise groans, mock gagging.
We reach the castle and everyone meets in the great hall. This is one of the stricter meals where we have to sir at our house tables and I frown as I'm reminded by Flitwick as we walk in.
"Meet me in the common room after dinner. Be good angel" Draco whispers, kissing my pouting bottom lip.
"No promises" I whisper, my breath tickling his neck as I move away.
He chuckles and we part ways. I catch up with more of my friends and we talk about out holidays and any gossip in our year.
When everyone makes their way out, typically headed for the common room an unfamiliar hand wraps around my forearm. I swivel round and am met by an older hufflepuff who is frowning down at me as I wriggle out of his grip.
"You're supposed to go to your own common room Elizabeth. I've let it slide long enough but you are breaking the rules." He scolds and I fight the urge to roll my eyes, settling for a dismissive huff. "You need to conform or I'll be forced to talk to my superiors."
