RED SUITS | Jun-ho

Y/N'S POV

I can still hear the screams of the players until they finally stopped.

Everyone is waiting for further instructions until the doors finally open and lead us into the players room.

The soldiers storm in and fire shots into the air to show that this game is over.

Dead bodies.

There are dead bodies everywhere.

The soldiers scan the bodies and the announcer declares that these players are disqualified.

Jun-Ho and I also enter the room to look for his brother.

Maybe he is also a victim of this game.

Who knows?

Jun-Ho spots Gi-Hun Seong and approaches him.

"Number 456, is there a man named Hwang In-Ho here?" he asks.

Gi-Hun Seong looks confused and replies,"We don't know each other's names."

After hearing this Jun-Ho walks away.

I follow him and ask if he has found any information about his brother.

"No, I only saw Gi-Hun Seong but he said that they don't know each others name" he replies, his voice heavy with sadness

All he wants is to find his brother and leave this place together.

I feel sorry for him and want to cheer him up but I don't know how.

Jun-Ho is usually the one who cheers me up but now I have to try to encourage him.

No matter what happens I will always be by his side.

JUN-HO'S POV

"Everyone, it's now time to go to sleep. Good work today." says the speaker.

Afterward the lights go out. I pull out my phone and begin to write down notes about what happened today.

A few seconds later I hear a strange cough coming from the next room, number 028.

At first I think nothing of it but then the idea hits me—it might be morse code.

I write down the morse code and it translates to "number 029".

I decide to text Y/N

𝗠𝗲:
"Are you up? I found out something"

𝗬/𝗻:
"I'm up. What is it?"

𝗠𝗲:
"I think number 028 is trying to send me morse code by coughing. It spelled out "number 029".

𝗬/𝗻:
"Really? Maybe he is just sick?"

𝗠𝗲:
"It could be, but i'm pretty sure these are morse codes."

𝗬/𝗻:
"We should be careful not to get caught. Now go to sleep or the workers who are watching us will notice that we are still awake."

𝗠𝗲:
"Okay, Good Night :)"

𝗬/𝗻:
"Good Night"

I didn't even notice that I am smiling at my phone.

Now I can fall asleep happily.

Y/N'S POV

"Starting roll call. Please wait in front of your door."

All the workers stand outside their doors as the roll call begin.

Number 028 however is acting strangely.

He is coughing again as if he wants to say something to Jun-Ho.

Jun-Ho and I notice his behavior and we both look at him.

Once the roll call ends all the soldiers head to their positions.

The next game is Tug of War. Jun-Ho and I are assigned in the same position.

After the game, us and other soldiers have to bring the coffins and carry away the dead bodies.

There are two towers where teams must eliminate each other. The first two teams are number one and seven.

Both teams prepare themselves, waiting for the game to start.

When the game starts both teams pull the rope with all their strength.

A few seconds later there is a
winner—team seven.

Team one loses and they hang on the rope until the rope snaps, sending them to their death.

What the hell.

Jun-Ho is equally shocked but we have to keep going.

Now it's time to get the coffins and remove the dead bodies. The ground is soaked with blood and needs to be cleaned.

One person is still conscious but barely.

Number 028 nods at Jun-Ho who seems confused but stays silent as they place the corpse into a coffin.

I notice this.

After they put the corpse into the coffin number 028 draws a small cross on it.

Jun-Ho notices and looks at me his gestures silently asking if I understand what it means. I shake my head.

We stack the coffins on a cart and transport them to a tunnel where the bodies are being burned.

"The day's work has been completed. All workers, please return to your quarters" announces the speaker as I finish the last coffin.

We are about head back to our rooms but then suddenly number 028 calls me.

"Number 030 did you forgot that we are selling organs tonight?" he points at Jun-Ho and me.

"Yeah, sorry. I just wanted to make sure everyone was gone" I reply.

Jun-Ho and I follow number 028.

Eventually number 028 leads us to a door and opens it, revealing staircase leading down.

We continue to follow him.

"Number 029 and 030 what happened yesterday? Why didn't you guys show up?" asks number 028 suddenly.

I'm about to say something but
Jun-Ho interrupts me.

"Sorry" is all he says.

"Sorry? I had to stop the others from killing you two. They don't trust you. I only let it slide because both of you saved my life on our last dive. Now we're even. One more mistake and both of you are out." number 028 warns.

Jun-Ho and I exchange a glance before we continue to follow him down the stairs.
