Y/N'S POV
The day arrived. The games have begun once more and the players are clueless about the nightmare awaiting them. They are now probably waking up now.
I am in my room, preparing myself for the day ahead. Unfortunately,
In-Ho has assigned me the role of a Triangle Guard this season.
That means I have to eliminate players, and I hate it with all my heart. My hands are stained with blood that I can never wash off.
I've already talked to In-Ho about not wanting to kill innocent people, but he dismissed my concerns. To him I am just a tool—a former police officer who is perfect for this job.
My training, my instincts, everything I once used to protect lives is now twisted into a weapon to destroy them.
I've been warned by In-Ho several times because I don't always follow orders the way he wants.
They kill people just to sell their organs for profit. I despise this.
As if killing them isn't bad enough, they even profit from their bodies.
That's why I make sure to kill the players in a way that their organs fail quickly.
Now, I'm at my assigned position. The first game is Red Light, Green Light. My job is to eliminate players who move when the puppet calls "Red Light."
As the game begins, I hear a loud voice cutting through the air. Someone is trying to explain to the players that they need to be careful during this game or else they'll die.
Wait.
Is that Gi-Hun?!
I take a closer look, scanning the face and yes it's him. It's Gi-Hun! He's trying to help the other players understand the rules so fewer people die.
Gi-Hun, that's a great idea.
Minutes later, the game officially starts. The puppet's cold, mechanical voice echoes across the field.
"Red Light, Green Light!"
Surprisingly, no one moves. Gi-Hun is shouting, "Stay still!" over and over again.
I need to come up with a plan to end these games with Gi-Hun's help.
"Red Light, Green Light!" the puppet sings again. No one moves. They're doing a good job.
But suddenly, a young woman starts screaming. Before I can process what is happening, a gunshot rings out. She crumbles to the ground, lifeless.
Damn it.
Someone died.
At least she died instantly, so they can't use her organs.
"Player 196, eliminated."
Now things are getting serious.
"You all have to stay calm! Don't move under any circumstances!"
Gi-Hun yells.
But the players don't listen. Panic spreads like wildfire and they start running, tripping over each other in order to escape.
Now it's our job to shoot those who move. Gunshots echo through the air, but I can't lift my arm it's as if I'm paralyzed.
"Guard 030 we need your support! Too many players are moving! Do your job properly!" I hear a male voice say through my earpiece.
I can't.
My hands are trembling as I aim my gun at a player.
Bang.
The player falls dead to the ground.
