JUN-HO'S POV

We're approaching the island now. Mr. Choi and three other comrades are already on the island, tracking
Gi-Hun's location.

Captain Park, one of the men, and I remain on the boat, flying a drone over the island.

"Start from the coast. Keep it low." I instruct the man handling the drone.

"Got it." he replies.

I focus on the drone's live feed, trying to spot anything that might confirm these twisted games are taking place here.

We need to find this island as soon as possible.

Y/n, just hold on a little longer.

Now that I know Y/n is alive, I can't afford to lose hope.

I continue scanning the screen, but there's nothing suspicious. Captain Park now stands beside me, watching the footage just as intensely.

I wonder if Mr. Choi has found anything on the island.

"Detective Hwang, we're screwed. They're onto us! They switched the GPS tracker to someone else!" says Mr. Choi over the walkie talkie.

I couldn't believe it.

Shit.

How the hell are we supposed to find the island now?

"Return to the boat," I order. A few minutes later, Mr. Choi and his team rejoined us.

"We can't just sit here and do nothing!" Mr. Choi says, clearly frustrated.

"We should at least search the nearby islands." he suggests.

"They led us here on purpose. I don't think they're anywhere near this area." I reply.

"A storm warning has been issued for tonight" Captain Park warns, placing his hand on my shoulder.
"We should head back to port."

He is right.

We were so close, and yet we're still so far from finding that island. I don't know how much longer I can handle this.

"Damn it!" Mr. Choi snaps.

"We should go back and come up with a new plan." says Mr. Kim.

"Who leaked the information?!" Mr. Choi shouts.

"Did one of you get drunk and blab about it somewhere?" he accuses angrily, pointing at the crew.

Everyone just stared at him. Deep down, I was starting to think he might be the one who let something slip while drinking.

I understood Mr. Choi's outburst but it wasn't helping.

"Alright, it's getting dark and cold. Let's get moving," Captain Park interrupts.

Back in Seoul, I go straight to the police station.

"Hey, Mr. Hwang, it's been a while." says one officer but I don't respond. I don't have time for small talk.

I go straight to my boss. I can feel his anger from down the hallway.

"Hwang Jun-Ho! What the hell were you thinking disappearing like that? Do you know how hard I had to beg the police chief to file your absence as vacation?! What's gotten into you?" he says angrily.

His rant is already getting on my nerves.

"Chief, are you finished?" I ask bluntly.

"What?" he replies, confused.

"Please help me." I beg.

"What more can I possibly do for you?" he scoffs.
"You want me to search for that island with you?"

"Yes." I answer without hesitation.

"For God's sake!" he exclaims.

"We have to start the search immediately. Otherwise, Mr. Seong Gi-Hun, Y/n, and everyone else on that island will be in danger." I tell the police chief.
Chief Kim sits beside me, quietly sipping his coffee.

"Haven't we been through this already? Y/n has been declared dead. She's gone because you, idiot, went on an unsanctioned mission with her!" the police chief shouts.

"Sir, Y/n is alive! Mr. Seong Gi-Hun spoke to her. She's being held on that island along with many innocent people! We have to find her. Please help me!" I plead.

"If we don't stop them now, we might not get another chance!" I add.

"Chief Kim, what's gotten into him this time? You said he was doing better." says the police chief, exasperated.

"Jun-Ho, go back to therapy. There's nothing to be embarrassed about it." he tells me.

"Sir! I'm telling the truth! Y/n is alive! We have to find her and end these games once and for all!" I shout.

"I need evidence! The police operates based on evidence!" he fires back.

"Wow. Love really can drive a man insane. Chief Kim, please make sure Jun-Ho gets back into therapy." he says before leaving the room.

Damn it.

"See, what did I tell you? The police are never helpful." says Mr. Choi over the phone while I am driving.

"We'll do it ourselves. If we split into two teams, we might have a chance." I tell him.

"Yeah. Captain Park got us another boat and we've recruited more men. We've divided them into two teams." he confirms.

"Okay, good. If the games have already started, we have no more than five days. We have to move fast." I say.

"Got it. We're all set to go once the weather clears up. I'll see you soon." Mr. Choi replies before hanging up.

Will we ever find the island?

Will I ever see Y/n again?
