maybe we weren't meant to last forever
maybe it was supposed to be a love that burned brighter than the hottest of flames only to be distinguished
but I cannot say you were a blip in my existence, a lesson to be learned
not when you still wander in the back of my mind, affecting my every action and choice
it was wrong to use the word distinguished
I never stopped loving you,
I never stopped wanting you
it just wasn't the right time
maybe in another universe, we will last forever
perhaps we'll build a house and grow a family
it just isn't this one
