Love the Darkness

Chapter 2

The summer flies by and before I know it, we have two weeks before returning to Hogwarts. I balanced my time between my followers, Death, and a weekly meeting with Tom. I learned early on he hated being called Tom, so now I got a kick out of calling him that just to annoy him. I made sure to always refer to him as the dark lord in front of others. Annoying him was one thing but I refused to be disrespectful. Death leads me through the forest as we search for a soul that needed to be dealt with. I still had a few years before I could truly claim my title as Mistress of Death but that didn't matter to me. It will be helpful in the future to learn how to deal with the dark creatures in this world. A muffled sound has me turning. I spot a boy that looks slightly younger than me curled up under a tree. I glance at Death and he nods. I carefully walk over. He looks up at me and his eyes go wide.

"No please stay away. I don't want to hurt you."

"You won't hurt me," I say keeping my voice low to help calm him.

"I will, I'm a monster." I stop a few feet away from him and bend down so I am at eye level with him. I sigh when I see the bite on his arm.

"I don't think you are a monster."

"Yes, I am. I can't control it." I sit down on the ground. Things like this made me hate Dumbledore and his followers even more. This child would never get the help he needed because he was now labeled as a dark creature. No more than dirt on the bottom of their shoes in their eyes. I glance at Death.

We need to help him.

Yes, mistress.

We found a place for the boy to stay but I knew he needed more. He would need a pack, but for now, he was safe.

Today I had convinced Ginny's mother to allow us to hang out, well she thought we were with my guardian but what she didn't know wouldn't kill her. We had a meeting with a few of the other members in a few minutes but first, we decided to grab some sweets. Ginny takes off running when I tease her about a crush she has, and I laugh following her. I watch as she runs into a boy and immediately pull her up and behind me. I knew what Malfoy would do to her if given the option.

"It was an accident Malfoy, leave her alone," I say gripping my wand. I didn't want to become enemies with my business partner's godson, but I wouldn't allow him to hurt her.

"Tell your little blo...." I point my want to his neck and feel my power wrap around me.

"Finish that sentence I dare you." I challenge. I feel a wand against my neck and glance at the boy beside us. His cold dark eyes remind me of someone but I can't place it.

"Draco won't hurt your friend, but you need to release him." I nod and lower my wand as he does the same.

"I'm Hailey Rose."

"Mattheo," I raise a brow but he shrugs sticking his hand out. I grab his hand and instantly feel a bond forming gold bands of magic wrap around our hands I stair mesmerized the magic looks to be also reaching out for Draco and Mattheo grabs his hand placing it on top of ours. The bond forms over our hands and solidifies before melting into us. Mattheo finally releases me and I turn to Ginny who is staring at us wide-eyed.

"Will you inform the others I will be unable to make the meeting but I want full reports when we get on the train."

"Can I tell the others?" I think about it for a moment but I refuse to keep my soul mates a secret.

"You may." I watch as she runs off before turning to the two boys still in front of me. "So Mattheo do I get your last name now?" I ask smiling. He takes a deep breath before glancing around.
