Arthur Leywin Pov
Aurora helped me pack what I would need in the relictombs. He gave me a dimensional ring filled with supplies for a month. From food and water to blankets and firewood, it was the supplies you would expect an adventurer to have.
According to Aurora, the relictombs alter their zones and difficulty depending on the people inside. It's almost impossible to get into a zone with other people unless we use an artifact called a simulet.
However, there are zones where I will be in the same place as other people. These zones are called convergence zones. There are cases of "Ascenders" surviving but not leaving the relictombs.
The Alacryan mage class called "A sentry." is typically used to map out the relictombs and find relics from the ancient mages. Aurora can explain what each artifact can do and it's limit if I can find any.
Aurora has a "Contact" that will help me in Alacrya. His contact is an old man, and once an ascender, he will also help me in my sound magic, which is a deviant I unlocked when the "Grey" part of me was more dominant.
Tomorrow I will go onto my first ascent. Aurora recommended that I go into five zones before taking a break. He also advised I take Ellie with me on an ascent so she wouldn't beg me to let her fight in the war.
I couldn't argue with his logic, especially when it comes to the safety of my family. Walking through the flying castle, I stood at the door to the training grounds.
"General Leywin!" The guards greeted with a salute.
"Is anyone inside?" I asked,
"A few of the newly awakened children are currently inside with their tutors. We can clear the training ground if you're going to use it, general." The first guard replied.
"It's fine. I'm here to see my sister's training." I dismissed.
Opening the doors that would tower over Sylvie in her dragon form, I walked in, ignoring the noble children that turned to look at me when they heard the door open.
The tutors and parents who noticed me bowed in respect while hushing their students and children when they asked who I was, turning my head to survey the room.
I spotted the familiar frame of my sister's fat bond chewing on a slab of meat. The bear met my gaze as it noticed me staring at it across from the giant bear was Ellie meditating.
I haven't checked my sister's core since I came back, nor was it mentioned in any conversation. Looking at her core, I was surprised to see she was at the dark yellow stage.
Wanting to see if her reaction time improved, I walked over to her using sound magic and mirage walk to become as close to invisible as possible.
Focusing ice mana into my palm, I made it cold enough to startle her but not to hurt her. My sister's bond regarded me for a moment. When he realized this was me testing Ellie, he turned away.
I carefully lowered myself and dashed towards my sister. Just as my ice-clad palm was about to make contact with her, she grabbed her bow and dodged.
"Really?" Ellie said after finding out who it was.
"You've gotten faster." I chuckled, dispersing the ice spell.
"Hmph." Ellie huffed.
"Hello, general. It's an honor to meet you. I am Doyle Flamesworth, your sister's main tutor." He introduced himself as he extended his hand.
"A pleasure to meet you," I replied, shaking his hand when something he said caught my attention. "Flamesworth?"
"Yes, I am honored you've heard of us," Doyle answered with a smile.
