"Are you sure you don't want to stay at the mansion? It's amazing really and we have enough rooms for you to stay in."

"I already payed for the hotel and you're far too tipsy right now, Brown." Ian says as he tightens my jacket in front of me making me frown.

"Then cancel the booking." I say pouting and he chuckles.

"I can't."

"No you don't want to. You're talking to me Ian, I know when you're lying." I say and I turn my head to look over at the others packing up the things, to see Tommy looking over at us.

The sun set hours ago, the dark sky now filled with clouds and a few stray stars.

"He's going to kill me if I stay."

"I'll protect you, I promise."

"I know you will but it's bro code." He says and I furrow my brows.

What has that to do with the fact that he could stay at Daisy's mansion. He would save money and Daisy would have another guest she'd care for.

I'm sure if she could, she would let the whole world stay at her mansion.

"It's not. I'm not asking you to sleep with me, just stay at the mansion, please Ian it's horrible."

"You have more allies in the mansion than you think. I can't stay, as much as I would like to. He wouldn't want-"

"I don't care what he wants or doesn't want. I want you to stay." I know I shouldn't say this because I will regret the words the next morning.

But I just feel so lonely at the mansion all the time.

He smiles apologetically and I sigh.

"I know, I know." I say and pull him in for a quick hug.

"I'll see you." I say and move to let go but am surprised when Ian presses a light kiss against my cheek.

"Sleep tight Mila." He says and I nod before I walk a bit to the side to let him get inside his car.

He waves at the others before he gets inside the car and I watch him drive off, his headlights the only source of light at this place.

"You ready to go Mila?" Someone calls after me and I turn my head and walk over to Daisy.

Misty and Harriet already got into their car without saying goodbye and are driving away.
At first I thought I could tolerate them but the second Ian showed up and divided his attention to me it wasn't really comfortable but they shouldn't worry.

Ian is family to me and yes I had a crush on him when I was about fifteen but that's what it was: just a crush.

Now I'm just happy to have a genuine person with me because with all this politeness around me I don't know who's being honest and who's not.

I walk over the small pathway pulling my jacket tighter, rather happy to get into the warm car.
My vision is a bit blurry and maybe I should've eaten because I'm more than tipsy now.

"Ian left?" Daisy asks when I reach her while Ryland packs up the last things in his truck.

"Jup."

"He didn't even say goodbye." Tommy speaks up while he hands Ryland the empty beer casket to put away.

"I think he has his mind somewhere else." Ryland says looking at me with a grin and if my cheeks weren't already hot from the liquor I'm sure I would've blushed.

"Nonsense he waved. Ian and Mila are good friends since.." Daisy trails off awkwardly and I look at her.

"Since what feels like forever." I say sighing and open the car door to get in the backseat.
