"You're so quiet. Even at lunch you didn't say a word- can you pass me the milk?"

I open the fridge and get on my tip toes to grab the carton of milk putting it onto the counter Daisy is currently working on.

"I feel terrible, I shouldn't have drunken so much I don't remember a thing from last night." I say gnawing my lip lightly because that's just a half truth.

I remember someone getting me upstairs and when Tommy didn't turn up for breakfast or lunch I had the suspicion it was him who helped me into my bed.

Daisy chuckles lightly as she grabs some flour.

"That's what got you all quiet? It's nothing to be embarrassed about. We tried to wake you up but you were too tired so Tom volunteered to carry you upstairs."

"Did I say something..stupid?" I ask fearing her answer.

"Not really. Most of your words were incoherent but you kept mumbling about oranges." My face heats up at her words and the heat spreads down my neck in an alarming speed.

"Oh god." I sigh and hide my blushing face behind my hands.

"It's okay Mila, really no one laughed at you."

I know but what did I do after Tommy brought me into my room? I faintly remember thinking about an angel and that he was sad.

Oh please don't tell me I've said something stupid to him and that's why he wasn't at breakfast and lunch.
I don't feel embarrassed, I don't even know how to describe the horrendous feeling of shame that crawls over my skin.

"You don't know what happened when I was in my room." I say and she looks up surprised from the dough, her blue eyes wide.

"What happened?"

"I don't know! I can't remember and..I.. I think I did something really stupid. Tommy wasn't at breakfast and lunch and I don't know what I did or said but I think it was bad."

"I don't know what you did but I can assure you that's not why Tom isn't here. His dad called early this morning and ordered him to the office."

"His dad? He's still..working for him?" I ask confused because I thought once Tommy went to college he called it quits with his dad due to their bad relationship.

"Yeah sure. He's at the office every time he can after college and I guess he's going to take over the company..well that's what his dad wants anyways."

Her words surprise me more than they should. I didn't see his dad often but I knew the way he handled things.

"Oh okay. That means I didn't do anything stupid..everything-everything is fine." I say before letting out a relaxed breath.

Daisy eyes me curiously making my cheeks blush.

I finally can relax for the day while Daisy continues to knead the dough.

"So their relationship is still rocky?" I ask curiously and she shrugs her shoulders.

"He doesn't talk about Frank that often. The only thing I picked up is the tension between him and Ian all the time, I guess they're fighting for their fathers attention.
Tom was really pissed yesterday when Ian appeared."

My brows raise surprised.

"I knew they fought a lot as kids but I didn't know it was still so present. I was in contact with Ian over the years he seems pretty cut off from his dad."

"He is but I guess Tom still sees a competitor in him and after yesterday even more."

"What happened yesterday?"
