Mason, Declan, Phil, Jack and I are late to the party. They offered to wait for me as I got ready. I insisted they didn't have to, but they said they would. I don't want to go to this party so I don't put too much effort in getting ready for it. A crop top and some shorts will be fine for a party that I'll probably leave 3 hours early. It's warm outside even though it's 9 ocklock, so I opt for a light jacket.

"You ready?" Mason asks, wrapping his arm around my waist.

"Yeah." I smile at him.

"If I didn't know you well enough, I'd say you two were dating." Declan comments.

"Me too. Plus you call each other babes, so you might as well just do it." Phil agrees.

I shrug my shoulders.

"You guys know how I feel about Jadon."

"I think you should make him jealous." says Mason.

"What?"

"He's got a new girl. What he wants you to do is to become all upset and worried like you were this afternoon. What you should do is show him you don't give a fuck."

"But I do."

"He doesn't need to know that."

"I HAVE AN IDEA!"yells Jack, like he's just won the lottery or something.

That man worries me sometimes.

"What now Jack?" asks Phil, like he's getting ready for some idiotic answer.

To be honest, he probably is. I don't blame him.

"You and Mason pretend to date. Jadon gets jealous that you like his teammate. He realises your the love of his life. You live happily ever after."

I laugh but stop when I realise that Phil, Dec and Mason aren't.

"Guys? Your not seriously considering this are you?" I ask.

"It might work Hailey." Declan says slowly.

"What? It's ridiculous!" I say.

"I think that might be the one good idea Jack's had in his entire life." Phil says.

"I've had loads of good ideas!" Jack says indignantly.

"I'm willing to if you are." Mason says.

His arms is still around my waist.

"Do you really think it could work?" I bite my lip.

I feel like the boys are all stuck in a high school romance film where absolutely everything is solved with the most unrealistic plans ever.

"Yeah."

"It's ridiculous, me dating Mason. Nobody would even believe it."

"You literally call each other babes. Stonesy asked me the other day if you were dating? It's believable." Phil assures me.

"Come on Hails, do you want to make Jadon jealous or not?"

"Fine." I say, "But if it backfires, it's all on you."

"Relax girl!" laughs Jack.

I sigh.

"Won't it feel weird, pretending to date one of my best friends?"

"Just act like you normally would except more like his girlfriend and less like his sister and you'll be just fine." Declan says.

We're approaching the club now.

"Here goes nothing." I mutter.

Mason swings open the door for me and we walk in.

I'm instantly hit with a wave of loud music.
