Jadon turns out to be quite the romantic guy. We've been on midnight drives, walks hand in hand in the moonlight and fancy restaurants.

But today promises to be one of the best dates I think I've ever been on. Hes taking me on a picnic to some quiet spot where it'll be just us.

I can't decide what to wear (again) so I spend about 15 minutes in front of my wardrobe as usual.

September has decided to bless us with one of its rare warm days that feel like they belong in august instead. I go for a white jumper and shorts. Casual but cute. I hope.

"Hailey!" Jesse calls up the stairs, "Evie's here!"

"Coming!" I yell back down.

Evie and I are relatively good friends all things considered. Like, obviously I'm not as good friends with her as I am with Hazel, but we consider her a part of our gang now.

I walk down the stairs.

"Hey eves." I say.

"Hey."

"I'm going out in a minute." I tell her, "So you can have some alone time with mr boring here." I lotion towards Jesse.

"I am not boring." Jesse says indignantly.

"Sure Jesse. Never seen you take Evie out for a picnic though." I say.

"That's cause she doesn't want to! Do you Evie?"

"I mean, a picnic sounds quite nice." she shrugs.

"Well how was I meant to know?" Jesse says.

I laugh.

"Jesse your just not a romantic guy."

"I am very romantic."

"Yep."

"Evie tell her I'm romantic!"

"Umm...I'm neutral." Evie lifts her hands up.

"Even your own girlfriend doesn't think your romantic." I laugh at him.

"Your not a very nice person." he says to me.

I see Jadon walking up the driveway out of the window so I open the door for him.

"I beg to differ." I answer him.

"Jadons not even that romantic either."

"Yes I am!"

That's Jadon who's just walked in the door and kissed me on the cheek.

"Look I don't have time for this argument, which we both know I'm going to win." I say.

Jesse rolls his eyes at me. Gotta love sassy Jesse.

"We're off." Jadon says, "You got everything?"

"Yep." I smile at him.

"Enjoy your picnic!" Evie calls after us.

"And have her back by a reasonable hour!" Jesse adds.

Jadon and I look at each other and both roll our eyes.

We step out into the warm sunshine.

"I got a good place in store." Jadon informs me.

I climb into his car which is something I've gotten very used to over the last week. We drive for about 25 minutes then he stops and parks in some random car park. Then he climbs out. I have no idea where we are.

"We walking?"

"No, we're going to fly in my invisible spaceship you can see right in front of you. Of course we're walking Hailey."
