It took Jesse a while, but eventually he forgave me. He came home 2 weeks after me. It was strange at first. Like something had definitely changed between us. After Marcus came around and played peace maker though, he agreed to put it behind us. Hazel apologised for being 'manipulative' as she called it. I told her I was a bitch.
It's weird. Straight after I'd left them behind, I finally saw clearly. My mistakes. Other people's. Everything. And one things for sure. It wasn't Hazels fault. Trent was lovely but not for me. And Jadon was Jadon. Hot, trouble making and definitely my type.
It's been a month since I walked out now. Football season has started again. Jesse says it's not awkward between him and Jadon. I'm grateful for that, because the last thing I wanted to do is fuck things up for Jesse. I already fucked them up for myself.
Life has moved on.
"I have friends coming around in a bit." jesse informs me over breakfast.
"Ok." I say.
"So..."
"So what?"
"You want Hazel to come over, or go out or something? Or are you going to be ok with the boys?"
Life has nearly moved on.
"I'll ask Hazel around."
"K."
"Look Jess, I'm sorry about the summer. I didn't mean to ruin anything."
"I know." he smiles weakly at me, "I forgive you."
Oh, I forgot to mention. Evie and Jesse are still going strong. They're proper couple goals, always acting cute and cuddling and shit I wish I had.
"Thanks."
I go up and get dressed. My style has been very uninspired since august and I just pull on a hoodie and joggers. I can't be bothered to find anything nicer.
I text hazel and she says she'll come over in an hour. Then I lounge around on my phone.
