It's game day, meaning Jesse wakes up as usual, completely blanks me for the whole morning, as usual and leaves for old Trafford, as usual.

What's not usual is that Jadon texts me at like 9:00 telling me to wish him luck. I smile as I type back: I will.

At about 2:00 Hazel and Evie come over so we can walk to the stadium together. I've put on my Sancho shirt and Hazel smiles when she sees it.

"Remember only 3 months ago when you were denying to everyone that you liked him? Now here you are all loved up." she laughs.

"Yeah well I didn't back then."

"I can't believe after all this you're still denying it."

I push her lightly as I close the front door.

"What did Jesse say when you didn't wear the Lingard shirt you always do?"she asks as we step onto the road.

It's one of those days where it's sunny as hell but also freezing as hell.

"Oh you can imagine. He wasn't pleased." I say, "But I do think he was joking."

"He is secretly shipping you guys so bad." laughs Evie.

"Ya think? He's always pointing out how I love my boyfriend more than my own brother."

"Well at this rate it's probably true!" Evie laughs.

I shrug quietly.

We quicken our pace.

"How are you and Marcus anyway? We never talk about you guys anymore, it's always just me." I ask hazel.

"Yeah we're good."

"Good good or good or what?"

Good can mean a lot of things.

"Good good. He's began talking about..."

"About what?" Evie asks.

She whispers the word like it's taboo.

"Marriage."

"SHUT UP!" I scream and violently attack her.

"I'm being serious." she says.

"OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!"

A lot of random people on the street are staring at us.

"Hailey shut up!" she hisses.

"My best friend is getting married. Oh my god." I'm in shock.

"For real?" Evie asks.

"We're not getting married! He only mentioned it once casually jeez!" she says.

"He is so going to ask you. Ima make him."

"What? No!" she's gone bright red.

"I'm kidding. But seriously though that's crazy."

"He didn't even say I was going to marry him! He just mentioned marriage to me, you know?"

I still can't believe this. I mean, I should've seen it coming.

"What did he say exactly?" Evie says.

"He wasn't like properly talking about it. We were just you know, chilling and talking about the future and stuff then he goes, 'oh and when I'm married...'

"Yeah but why would he say that if he wasn't gonna marry you?" I point out.

"I don't know. Maybe he just wanted to say he wanted to get married, not necessarily to me..."
