Taeyong thought about it. Jaehyun just probably wants him out of the company, and so he will. After he does everything in a month, he'll be transferring to Doyoung's company, maybe. He's still not sure. He did decide it very impulsively. He somehow regrets it but no turning back.

Jaehyun did sign it anyway.

At that moment, Jaehyun did realize that maybe...he did, a little, go too far. This is actually in his favor. He wouldn't be seeing him after this month anymore, but in the back of his mind, he felt somewhat guilty. Especially when he saw Taeyong tearing up when he explains about his abrupt leave.

"I wouldn't want to become a burden for this company so I decided to take my leave. But I will finish everything before I do, Mr. Jung, and I will do my job right."

Jaehyun massaged his temples from the frustration. He doesn't have to feel guilty! He wanted this. But deep inside of him, he felt something just broke when he saw Taeyong trying to hold back his tears. At that point, he couldn't help himself from staring at the boy.

His eyes weren't looking back at him but they were glistening because of the tears and his lips has a small curve, trying to display a smile . Despite of his expression, Jaehyun has his full attention on him. Suddenly, he took notes of Taeyong's physique and noticed he didn't change much. He's still the boy he knew.

Every detail he admired when they were young were still the details he ever wanted to admire.

"See? What did I tell you? Mind the consequences. It'll just backfire at you, dumbass," Mark drank the alcohol he has in his glass, clearing his throat from the burn, "Look at you now, you came here to talk to me about it when you already signed his resignation."

Jaehyun sighed, "Let's get things straight. I'm just regretting...just because even though I found him clumsy, he's still a big asset to the team. H-He was my mother's scholar anyway and I knew he's been really dedicated...to his work."

"The great Jung Jaehyun is stuttering? This must be a great day then," Mark teased, speaking in English.

"What are you talking about?!"

The man chuckled, "Look, to tell you the truth, you're making things really obvious. You kept on getting mad at him for the worse reasons. If my employee came in late, once, I wouldn't embarrass them like what you did," then he smirked, "And now what happened? The emotionless man suddenly became weak because he just saw him crying. I like the very sudden development, Jae."

Jaehyun furrowed his eyebrows and sighed, "I just...pitied him. I knew that the company is important to him as well."

He facepalmed and groaned. Mark could only smile as he just gets entertained so much because of how frustrated Jaehyun is. His friend is always very calm and collected, and it's his first time seeing him like this after so many years of being with him in America. Well, he kind of already foreseen this.

All those years, Jaehyun still has Taeyong in his mind.

"Do you really want to push him away?" Mark asked, looking straight at Jaehyun who drank the alcohol in one gulp, "You obviously still have--"

Then Jaehyun frowned as he shook his head, "How would I make my plans possible if I'll keep him away? Nothing else. Whatever you're going to say, don't bother continuing."

"Oh, I thought you don't want to see him again?"

The man didn't look back at him, he just rolled his eyes, "Mark, just shut up. It's all business. Right...I'm just going to be less of a jerk so he could stay."

Mark shrugged, "How did you become a businessman when you're this indecisive? I don't really get you."

Of course, Jaehyun won't let Taeyong go just so his plans will happen.

It's not because he just realized that he does want the boy to stay for him.

Taeyong has never been this awkward with any of his bosses, especially Jaehyun. He wanted to avoid him, more like not show himself to him as much as possible. He knows Jaehyun hates seeing his face by now, he's not dense. But when they had a short meeting, they couldn't look up because of him. He doesn't want to glance at him, so he only listen and agree with everything as he updates everyone.

But then, something surprising happened.

"I'm not allowing you to leave this company."

Taeyong's eyes widened at the sudden words. He was just called just now by Jaehyun and that's surprising itself, and now this? He was called so they could talk about his resignation notice?

He was standing infront meters away from the CEO's, President, desk with his head down and his hands fidgeting. He's always like this when it comes to Jaehyun. He's always a timid person to him, but stern to most people.

"Mr. Jung, my decision is final--"

"I don't think you know who you are speaking to, Mr. Lee."

The boy looked up and met with the man's eyes. His heart started beating steadily. He could stare at Jaehyun's eyes. He wished he could see him smile, though.

He missed his dimples and eye smiles.

"I did shout and say things to you abruptly out of anger, I do that to many people. Even if you ask people from my company in America. But that's just how I train and shape my employees up to my standards. And I am doing this for my family's company. You, I think, are an asset to this company."

Taeyong was taken aback, "Asset?"

Jaehyun stood from his chair and walked to take a seat on the front of his desk, with his arms crossed and looking straight at Taeyong who was just a few meters infront of him. He doesn't know that Taeyong's stomach was getting filled with butterflies and his mind going crazy.

"Yes. You're a trusted personnel of my mother, and I know how much you've dedicated yourself to your work. So, yes, I won't let you go that easily."

The boy furrowed his eyebrows a bit, "But, Mr. Jung--"

"If I have to apologize, then I will. If it means for you to stay."

What is happening?! Am I dreaming?

"W-Where is this coming from?" Taeyong asked, "If I may ask, Mr. Jung."

Jaehyun tilted his head to the side a bit, "Let's just say I can't afford to lose you...for this company."

He was mad at him this whole week and now, he's acting like nothing happened and wants him to stay. Taeyong suddenly got confused with everything.

"But as a Human Resource Supervisor, it's still an employee's right to decide for their resignation, Mr. Jung. And my decision is final. I will leave this company after a month."

Jaehyun clenched his jaw.

Why is he being so assertive?

"Tell me the truth then. Is it because of me?"
