Taeyong smiled softly, "I'm leaving because I want to, Mr. Jung. Nothing personal."
The way the clock ticks inside the quiet room was defeaning and Taeyong doesn't want to stay anymore. He wants to just get out and never give another word again. He's scared that Jaehyun just might say something if he tells the truth. He doesn't want him to get mad anymore.
It just breaks him apart.
But Jaehyun knows whenever Taeyong lies.
The man hummed, "You're very easy to read as always."
Taeyong felt confused at his words until it sunk in, making his heart skip a beat.
"Okay, fine. I'll let you hold on to that letter but I'll make you stay," Jaehyun said and stood to stand closer infront of Taeyong, "You're not going anywhere, Mr. Lee. And I am certain that you won't."
The boy fell speechless for a moment. He couldn't process what was happening and he couldn't believe about Jaehyun's persistence. He felt trap, just being able to stand just a few inches away from the man. So close that he could smell his fancy men's perfume and every detail he has on his expensive suit.
Taeyong finally came back to his senses and nodded, "I-I'll be taking my leave. Thank you for your time...Mr. Jung."
He turned his back and walked his way towards the door. Jaehyun stood there, with his hands inside his pockets, as he tried gaining some courage and when he heard the door clicked, he spoke.
"No, thank you. I hope you'll think about it."
Back in the office, Taeyong kept spacing out. Well, who expected that anyway? Jaehyun suddenly tried to hold him back from leaving the company after he kept on crashing Taeyong's whole existence ever since he came. He doesn't want to go too. But he doesn't know why he just told him that it's his final decision already.
He admits that it's because of Jaehyun. The abrupt decision is because of him. He just doesn't want to be a bother or something to him anymore. He just can't push himself to ask Jaehyun why.
"Hey, if you want, you can take your leave, hyung. You looked really bothered these past few days."
Taeyong smiled softly, "I'm fine."
"You can always let us do some. I can help," Jungwoo uttered, "Do you need me for anything?"
"No--"
"Don't think about what Mr. Jung said about you the other day--"
"I don't. Also, it's fine. I was being sluggish lately and it's good that someone had to say it to me," the boy said.
"Have you talked about your resignation with him?" Jungwoo asked.
If Taeyong tells Jungwoo about what Jaehyun said to him, it'll just fuel some issues. He can't taint his boss' name anyway. He was warned.
"Yes. I'll be transferring soon."
The boy frowned with sad eyes, "Do you really need to go? I'll have no one with me anymore. The next boss would probably a douche."
"Hey, don't talk like that. Also, you have Johnny," Taeyong said, "I'll make sure the one replacing me would be nice."
Cutting their conversation, the employee's wristwatch started beeping.
