~Chloe River~

The sun seems to stay in its perfectly set state for hours as we look forward. The oranges and yellows begin turning pinker with time. It is utter bliss. I look at Niall, my head against his warm shoulder. He continues looking straight out into the soft rays of sun. His face is lit pink and our shadow is cast of behind us. I stare at it for a moment. Our shadow.

Our shadow.

I may be crazy, but it all looks pretty...romantic.

Yeah, Chloe; the guy you like says I love you and here you are thinking you're in a romantic situation with someone else. That's pretty sleazy.

But I can't help it. I really am enjoying the blissful sensation of watching a sunset with a guy. It's not something I ever get to do. The guys I hang out with don't do things like this with me.

Niall catches me staring at him. "What is it? Do I have something on my face?" he asks. He reaches his hand up trying to feel around for the non-existent "something" on his face. He's so innocent.

I laugh at him. "No, you're fine."

"Oh." He puts his hand back on the ground and leans back against his arms once more. "It really is criminally beautiful out here."

"Criminally?" I question.

"Yeah, it should really be a crime that not everyone will get to see something as gorgeous as this," he responds. He's obviously referring to the sunset, but he stares straight at my face when he says so, which makes my cheeks redden. He reaches his hand out and places it gently on my face. "Chloe River, you're amazing. Everybody should be as privileged as I am to even be able to see your face."

"I'm not that great," I respond shyly. "But you on the other hand...you're an absolute saint."

"Have you ever been kissed by an angel?" he asks.

Before I get a chance to figure out what he just said or understand what he's doing, our lips press into each other's.

It's just a nice blissful feeling, unlike the fireworks with Harry. I can't tell if that's a good thing or a bad thing. Our moist lips become one for a simple moment and his hands cup my face. All I know is that this kiss is mine.

It wasn't up against a brick wall. It wasn't rough. It wasn't so many that I stopped being able to distinguish one from another. It wasn't up on the media.

This kiss is between Niall and me. It was one graze of lips. It was sweet. It put butterflies in my stomach, and it was perfect. I guess it's a more traditional first kiss.

Niall smiles at me. "Is it bad that I'm not guilty that I probably just complicated your life?"

I sigh, leaning against his shoulder. "I'm not quite sure." I stare into the sunset, longing for advice. "We shouldn't do that again though. I mean, not with Harry and stuff." I awkwardly shift, thinking of what I would be missing if I lose either of them.

*************

"Chloe, we're home!" it was unmistakably the voice of my mother.

"Mom? Dad? Why are you guys back? You're supposed to be at the convention for 3 more days," I respond, staring at them in disbelief. My parents never miss even a day of a convention. They love sharing their ideas and discussing others'.

They give each other a quick glance. "We quit." The words were sudden and uncalled for. "Niall told us how much you wanted to move to a small town, so we've decided to pursue different passions of ours," mom continues. "We're moving to that cute town just in the other side of the border. I'm going to be a baker."

"And I'm going to be an architect," dad adds.

A grin overtakes my face. "And I'm going to be the happiest girl in the world!" I run forwards and hug my parents.

Niall walks through the door.

I finish hugging my parents and run into his arms. He hoists me up by my waist and spins me in a circle before lowering me to the ground once more. I look straight into his eyes. "Thank you so much!" I whisper, our foreheads pressed together. Butterflies shoot through my stomachs as I realize that this boy just made my life dream come true.

*************

My eyes open. It was a dream? Damn it!

But as I look up, I see Niall's face. Sweet, innocent, cute-as-a-button Niall.

"Oh, you're up," he observes. The sky would be pitch black if it weren't for the fact that it's lit up by stars. "You fell asleep a while ago, and you were really peaceful so I didn't want to wake you," he admits.

I smile at his silhouette. It's a good thing my parents aren't home; they'd certainly castrate me for being out this late without telling them. They need a call to at least make sure nobody is going to sue them. Their money is more important than I actually am. As I realize that his legs are my pillow, my stomach flutters at the contact.

That's how I realize that, though it was all a dream, the feelings I felt are real. Niall is entirely down to Earth and he's keeping all feelings here whereas Harry is dragging me up to the skies with him. I'm not sure which one I want. The skies sound fun, but Earth is my home.

I know I'm going to regret this later, but I sit up, and turn towards him, putting my forehead against Niall's. "I want complicated," I whisper. "Are you okay with that?"

He gives a quick nod before, both of us seeming unsure of our actions, as we close the small gap between our lips. No, we don't make out all over the ground or begin stripping or anything. We give each other two long kisses with some tongue and a whole lot of passion. His hands run the space of my back, while my hands move from his shoulders to his chest.

"Chloe, I've been looking for you everywhere!" a voice screams. "Wait, what the hell is going on here?" He gestures towards our just finished kisses.

Niall and I look like deer caught in headlights.

"We were playing Mario Kart?" I attempt, weakly.
