Deadline for the cover competition is being extended to June 15th, so you still have time if you're interested.

I sit, arms folded across my chest. Who knew the bad boy was possessive?

"Is this really necessary?" I blurt. "I mean, do you really have the right to ground me?" I ask Harry.

"Until your parents get home, and if you ever want to see me again." His face has been stuck in a sunken frown since the incident. "I can't believe you did that!" he screams.

"We're not even dating," I respond. "And I can't believe you said you love me! You freaked me out!"

"Oh, I'm so sorry I was telling you my feelings and expressing my devotion towards you. I really should have thought better of it," he spits, his voice laced with venom.

I hug my arms tighter to my chest, making somewhat of a 'hmph' sound. "Fine, I'll say it. I, Chloe River, solemnly swear to not go anywhere except to band practice and to see Harry Styles for 3 more days, when my parents get home."

"Thank you," he says in a ha-I-won voice.

This is ridiculous. But I don't want to never see him again. Suddenly, I think of something. "But I'm not gonna kiss you while I'm grounded, because I'm gonna be mad at you," I declare.

"That was not part of the deal," he says, turning his head quickly to face me.

"You're right; it's not part of any deal. It's just not gonna happen."

He frowns. "Should give enough time for your lips to sanitize themselves from the cheating anyways," he mutters.

Well, this whole situation is going well.

I hear someone enter through the door. Harry mumbles something along the lines of, "Wait here."

"But this is my hou-"

Harry makes a noise that sounds kind of like "zip," gesturing for me to shut up. I squeeze my lips together angrily. If I didn't like that boy, he'd be dead. In fact, I don't even wanna like him right now. But there is something kinda cute about the fact that he's so possessive.

"Niall? You tryna stir up more trouble, mate?" I hear Harry yell from the other room.

It's Niall?

A few mumbles later I hear Niall speak, "You can't keep her locked up. You're her...admirer?...not her parents!"

They begin talking at a normal volume again, which just sound like mumbles to someone a room away.

They walk into the room, both with over exaggerated, fake smiles on, which could have easily been mistaken for gritted teeth. "I know you guys don't like each other," I say. "You don't have to even pretend."

Their faces drop into scowls, and they look pointedly at one another.

It pains me to see them like this. I wave my hands disapprovingly in front of my face, "No, no, no," I say. "You guys were close buddies until I came into the picture. Just forget about me and carry on with your lives. Bros before hoes, right?" I give a weak smile.

They nod, grudgingly.

"But I don't even want to be his friend," Harry says.

And the fight continues. They begin screaming at each other.

This is my fault.

"Stop!" I scream. "Please..." my voice weakens.

*********

I get up from my seat. Harry grabs my waist from the side, causing me to tumble onto him. We laugh, as I adjust myself to a seated position on his lap. "Where're you going, beautiful?"

"I'm going to band practice. It's gonna be hella awkward with Brent, but we still have to practice for prom."

He tightens his grip. "Why not just stay here?"

"I need to practice." I need to breathe. "I'll miss your company." Not even a little bit. "But duty calls." Hehe...doody...

"Okay, but come back as soon as practice is over," he drawls. "You know the rules."

I've been cooped up in my own house for 2 days, only leaving when Harry takes me to his place or for food. I need some space and I think Harry needs a chill pill. At first I thought maybe it would be kinda cute to have a possessive Harry. Not at all. When I have to pee, I have to endure a round of questions first, to ensure that I won't jump out the window and escape.

I go to leave, swinging open the front door and adjusting my backpack. "Come back right after!" Harry yells.

I run out into the open air, finally free.

**************

"Okay, I made it 4 days. What now? My parents are coming home in, like, an hour," I growl at him, annoyed.

"Chloe?" his voice is soft.

"What?"

He clears his throat and mumbles, "Thanks."

"What?" Confusion fills my voice.

"Never mind," he shakes his head. "Get your cute butt over here." He smirks.

I laugh, unfolding my arms. He makes it really quite hard to hate him. I walk over to where he's sitting on the couch and sit on his lap. He leans in and kisses me. Then he rests his head on my forehead. "I said thanks," he mumbles once more, "for putting up with my stupid deal for 4 days."

I let out a breath of air, my eyes centimeters from his. My lips a mere inch. But by the clouded look in his eye, I feel so distant from him.

"Let's go somewhere."

I nod, unconsciously. "Okay..."
