"Can I know where we're going yet?" I ask.

"Just tell your parents you're going on a date," he responds.

Tentatively, I text those exact words to my dad. "But you brought a limo to my house and you won't tell me where we're going!" I complain after typing.

"Do you not know what a surprise is?"

"I do...I just don't care for them. Tell me!"

He covers his ears. "Jeez, Chloe, you're right next to me! No need to scream!"

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!" I screech even louder. I tighten my fists and squint my eyes with my mouth wide open.

His knuckles turn white over his ears. "Chl-Chloe! Chloe!!!" I feel hot pressure against my lips, causing my screams to fade out. When I pull away, he's smirking at his own creativity.

I've got to admit, cutting me off with a kiss is crazy adorable. I stare him up and down, adoringly.

"Hey, hey. I know I'm sexy, but no need to ogle."

Was it that obvious?

I blush slightly. "Was not."

"Were too, dork," he laughs.

"Was not, dum dum!" I scoff.

"Your lips say one thing but your exploding ovaries gave you away." He smiles at how taken aback I am, tapping my nose with his finger. My nose twitches in response. "Don't worry," he mutters, guiding my face by my chin to level it with his. His green emeralds drill into my purplish blues in a way that would have made my knees buckle if I were standing. "No need to ogle. This is all yours." Scratch that: My entire body would have buckled, if that's even possible.

Smiling like an idiot, I look at the go kart track he's brought me to. No line, no people in general actually, and some epic looking tracks. Go karting is most certainly one of my favorite things ever.

"You like?"

"Yes! I love it! How did you -"

"I know a guy who came in an opened the place just for us. It's a Sunday, so it's usually closed," he replies.

"Thank you!" I wrap my arms around his neck and smile into his chest. "Thank you. Nobody's ever treated me the way you do before." My voice is muffled in the fabric of his shirt.

Nobody ever gave me special treatment. I never wanted it. But I guess...there's something about having it that's kinda nice. I feel...loved.

Loved.

Love.

Yeah...that's the word.

That's definitely the right word.

Just a word.

Word, word, word, word.

Love.

Love, love, love, love.

Oh, God, I think I'm going to hyperventilate or throw up.

Please help me, O Lord Almighty...

I'm in...in...that thing, that awful, dreadful thing. That thing that only exists in fairytales. That thing that I said would not happen.
