Like a pair of wings

Chapter 23

She took in a deep breath, leaning her had back as she stretches out her wings to their full length once more. It was 2 in the night and she had made sure that the rest of the agents were a sleep when she walked down to the hangar to let out her wings. To her surprise, she had found that even May was asleep at this time, not that she was complaining, she had made sure to turn of the cameras just in case. Making a small jump she takes two laps around the hangar, it felt nice to be able to stretch them.

Since she had returned to the BUS, her wings had grown back into the size they had been when she left if not even larger. Landing swiftly on the ground once more, Skye smiles as she looks at her wings. She kind of wish that Nicole and the others could see them now, but she knows it’s a risk to cross pass with them right now. The team is still on the edge after what happened a week ago.

It had not helped that Skye told them that she couldn’t find anything on Ezekiel Jones, well at least nothing that they could use to get to him. Because getting him would mean returning them back to the Library and that’s not something that will happen anytime soon or ever again.

Feeling how she is starting to grow tired, she folds her wings together and pulls on her jacket. She isn’t going to risk it if someone has woken up during the time she has been flying around. Walking as silently as possible, Skye reaches her bunk and let’s out a breath of sigh that she just managed to get away with something like this. Dropping down on her bed, Skye stretches out to grab her laptop. She has to activate the security cameras down stairs before she falls asleep.

Activating the cameras, she finds out that she has an incoming email. Lifting one eyebrow, she opens it only to cover her mouth to stifle a laughter. Nicole had managed to capture some good pictures of Flynn trying to help out with the younger Librarians training. And as always when he tries to help out… things doesn’t always go in the right direction.

Shaking her head, Skye sends a reply before closing her laptop and place it back where she had taken it. Feeling done for the day, she finally place her head on her pillow. She is asleep the moment she close her eyes.

“Skye, meeting room!”

Fitz voice wakes her up, along hearing how he knocks on her door. Turning around in her bed, she wants to hide under her pillow. Opening one of her eyes, she turns her attention towards the alarm clock she has placed beside her laptop, it’s 6 in the morning.

“Skye! We have a mission.”

Fitz adds and this managed to wake her up. Normally it would be Ward waking her up, because she is late for training. Hearing that it’s Fitz waking her up and the fact that he is talking about a mission, Skye has to get up. There is no way she can get away from this.

“I’ll be up in a few.”

She responds, letting out a tired sigh in the prosses as she push herself up from the bed. Rubbing a hand over her face, she tries to wake herself up properly. With a shake of her head, she stands up and unlocks her door. Coming face to face with Fitz and seeing his smile, she rolls her eyes.

“For how long was you awake last night?”

He asks with a laugher only to have Skye push past him, knocking her shoulder with his in the prosses. This makes the engineer laugh more and Skye let’s out a small laugh herself as they head for the meeting room.

“Glad that you two wanted to join us."

Coulson comments as she and Fitz enters the meeting room, making both Skye and Fitz look at him and the rest of the team.
