“What are they doing back here?”
Jenkins shows up behind one of the bookshelf before the S.H.I.E.L.D team has a chance to react on what she has told them.
“We have some big trouble on our hands.”
Nicole answer the old man, her eyes narrowed as she looks at him, a warning that he should keep silent. Seeing that Jenkins takes the hint, Nicole turns towards the S.H.I.E.L.D team once more, seeing how they are looking around one another with large eyes.
“As I was saying, welcome back to the Library.”
She says once more, making their heads turn towards her once more.
“Back? I am quite sure we have never been here before.”
Coulson points out, at least the spell didn’t break that easily.
“And how did we end up here? The door we went through was one for the bathroom.”
May adds, her arms crossed.
“After the last time, Skye thought it was for everyone’s best that neither of you remember what went down that day.”
Nicole tells them, seeing how the agents looks at one another once more. But before either of them has a chance to question what they have been told, the doors opens and Cassandra enters, Jake, Ezekiel, Eve and Flynn following her.
“What’s this I hear about Skye gone missing?”
Flynn asks as his eyes lands on her, as where Eve’s eyes travels towards the S.H.I.E.L.D agents.
“And what are they doing back here?”
She asks and Nicole rolls her eyes. The second guardian has spent to much time with the old caretaker.
“Your old boss finally did it, she managed to capture Skye.”
Nicole explains, her attention turned towards Eve as she says it. She can see how Eve’s eyes grows large at the information and from the corner of her eye, she can see how Flynn stumbles slightly.
“Please tell me this is some type if joke Noone.”
At the new voice, everyone looks around, not able to locate the new person. Looking over at Flynn, Nicole can see how he realises who is speaking. Following his eyes, Nicole sees the turned around mirror and seeing that Jake is standing the closes to it.
“Stone, turn that mirror.”
She orders, seeing the surprised look in the younger Librarian. But with a shrug of his shoulder, he does what is asked. As the large mirror is turned, Nicole’s eyes lands on the image of Charlene and Judson. She can see the worry and fear in their eyes and Nicole knows them all to well.
“What is going on here? Some answers would be good.”
Coulson speaks up, making Nicole turn to look at the S.H.I.E.L.D agents once more. For a few seconds she had almost forgotten that they were there.
“Skye’s been taken by an organisation that goes under the acronym D.O.S.A. They have been trying to capture Skye for years and it’s important that we get her back as fast as possible.”
Nicole starts to explain, turning her attention towards the Librarians and Eve.
“So I suggest you guys arms up.”
She adds, narrowing her eyes as she takes in her own team. Seeing them nod their heads and moving about slowly, Nicole takes in a deep breath.
“Oh, and Flynn. Make sure to take a second weapon with you. You know Cal will leave your side the moment Skye is close enough.”
She adds, seeing the look he gives her, Nicole lifts one eyebrow.
“You know she is right Flynn.”
Eve points out, making Flynn roll his eyes. A spark in his eyes a second later makes both Nicole and Eve roll their eyes.
“Let me guess... the Spear of Destiny?”
“The Spear of Destiny!”
Eve asks as Flynn calls out his second choice.
“Nerd.”
Nicole comments and before Flynn has a chance to reply like he always do, Eve is pushing him out of the room.
“Well, we are ready to...”
“No.”
Nicole turns quickly to look at the leader of the S.H.I.E.L.D team, eyes narrowed.
“Look, I know Skye is a part of your team and I know you all care about her. But it was my decision to bring you all back here without her knowing it. And I’m not going to let you all go into a war against D.O.S.A. It’s enough that we are.”
She starts to explain, making sure to leave no room for argument as she turns her attention towards Jenkins, Judson and Charlene.
“They will explain what you need to know in the meantime. I promise, we will return back with Skye.”
She adds, now moving towards the globe to active the back-door. They didn’t need to use it right now, there is one more door in this Library that can take them to where they need to go next.
“The back-door is connected to their BUS.”
Nicole informs Jenkins who nods his head and she looks at the S.H.I.E.L.D agents once more. She can see the long list of questions in their eyes, making her shake her own.
“Nicole?”
Hearing Cassandra call her name, Nicole takes in a deep breath to collect herself. Now isn’t the time to break down.
“I’m ready, to the hallway of doors.”
She orders and the red-haired Librarian nods her head at this, turning back once more.
“Nicole.”
Hearing Charlene’s voice once more, Nicole turns towards the mirror, seeing how Charlene and Judson nods their heads towards her, she smiles weakly.
“Bring, bring her home.”
Judson orders, making Nicole want to salute him.
“I will. I won’t fail her again.”
And with that, Nicole leaves the room, heading down the corridors of the Library. Finding her way without a problem, she can see how the rest of the team has gathered in the hallway.
“Why here? Why not use the back-door?”
She can hear Jake ask and she rolls her eyes. Walking past them, her feet taking her to a steel door, she turns to look at them.
“Why use a back door when we have a door that can give us a perfect element of surprise?”
She asks, pulling the door open.
