She heard the gasp, and knowing fully well that it didn’t come from the Librarians, Guardians or the Caretaker, Skye turns her head to the side. As her eye’s lands on the 616 team, minus Ward, her eye's narrows. Hearing a small gasp escaping Cassandra, Skye doesn’t let go of the firmer grip on the Librarian, the anger going through her right now is to strong, and she knows just how puffed up her wings are in this moment.
“What are they doing here?”
She asks through her teeth, I almost sounds like she is growling. Feeling how Cassandra hits her back, she releases her grip, not fully since she still needs the support.
“Well... you see...”
Cassandra starts to explain in a low voice, the only reason Skye is able to hear her is because they are standing so close to one another.
“I took them here, after they told us you had been taken and Cassandra and I could confirm it was D.O.S.A, I made the decision to take them here. Mostly to make sure they wouldn’t get in the way of the rescue mission.”
Nicole speaks up and Skye turns to look at her, realising that Nicole have done the exact thing Skye would have expected of her, the same thing she would have herself if she had been in that spot, she realises she can’t stay angry. But then there is the fact that no one told her, and as she opens her mouth to point that out, she is stopped.
“You said it yourself, we could explain once we got back. But you were being stubborn so we couldn’t get to the part about there being S.H.I.E.L.D agents in the building once more.”
Cassandra tells her, beating Skye at her own game once more. With a deep sigh of defeat, she starts to untangle herself from Cassandra and somehow managed to move towards one of the chairs without falling over.
Placing her head in her hands, she tries to get the world to stop spinning and maybe they were right, maybe some food isn’t enough but she is now in deep water. The fact that their memories have returned isn’t good, and that was the only spell she had and she can’t help but to feel that she has wasted it.
“I guess spending time here, after hearing the story about the last time they were around and seeing your wings triggered their memories.”
Cassandra says, moving so she stands beside her once more. Letting out a sigh of her own, Skye realises that she is right, how she wish she would be able to stay angry for longer than a few seconds before anyone points out the obvious.
“So much for wasting my only memory spell.”
“Skye don’t...”
She can hear Flynn start to speak, which makes her slightly surprised but at the same time it gives her surprise energy to get angry on.
“Don’t you even think about saying that this isn’t my fault Carter.”
She says, moving to look at him, eyes narrowed.
“That spell was meant for me, to take away the memories of what happened that day, to make me forget how my father and Wilde have been trying for years to create something that could give the serpent brotherhood an edge in the war against this place.”
Skye starts to say, and she can see how Nicole and Flynn grows tensed at the mention of the former Librarian and she can hear how Nicole mumbles that she should have killed them both then and there.
“But no, I had to go and use it to protect the Library and now all of that is gone.”
She finishes, turning to place her head on the table. With a shaky breath, she tries to collect herself, and it hits her that she has told everyone something she have kept a secret for so many years.
She knows that Nicole knew more than the others, she was the one saving her when young after all, but Nicole had never known what exactly went down that day. They had figured out on their own that the man behind it all was her father, but they have never been able to find him, he was gone the moment Skye was taken to safety and then Nicole and Flynn took care of Wilde a few years later, destroying the last lead.
Realising that the room is to quite, Skye starts to feel worried. At learning something like this, well... she was expecting questions and lot of them. Lifting her head, she sees that the room is empty, and a new fear takes over. Had it all been just a dream, is she still stuck in D.O.S.A? Rising from the chair, to quickly, she falls to the floor and she starts to look around herself in panic.
“Calm down, they realised you would need some time alone so Nicole and Eve pushed everyone deeper into the Library.”
A voice tells her, at the sound of it, Skye turns around, eyes landing on Charlene and Judson in the mirror and she can feel how her eyes grows. Pushing herself up and moving slowly towards the mirror, she drops down on the floor in front of them.
“What should I do? I.. I don’t even know who...”
She stops talking, feeling that the adrenalin boost she got when being saved is slowly leaving her body and the after effects of what ever drug D.O.S.A used on her taking over, and not only food will be able to help her get back on her feet within an hour.
And she has already been missing for to long, sure Coulson, May, Simmons and Fitz are here, that leaves the biggest problem, Ward. The others might have forgiven her, but she knows all to well how quick he would jump on the fact that she might have betrayed them all once more.
“I think you know exactly what will have to be done next, or what road you are going to take.”
Charlene speaks to her in a calm and collected tone and Skye can feel how something lands on her hand. Opening her eyes, not even realising they have been closed, they lands on a white envelope and she can see how her name starts to take form in golden letters.
