𝐈 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬 to the sound of Maggie yelling, "This is all you. You started this!" "What difference whose fault it is? What do we do?" Beth questions. I block out the rest of the noise and look at my right arm to see a bandage covering my wound, blood showing through it slightly. "Get back here!" Hershel yells. "You're slipping, Rick. We've all seen it. We understand why. But now is not the time. You once said this isn't a democracy. Now you have to own up to that. I put my family's life in your hands. Jade is barely hanging on, she is laying on her bed, trying to recover from just a minor graze, you're someone she needs, you, out of all of us, are her father figure."

Things went silent for a little while, "So get your head clear and do something." I try to sit up, but my arm made it nearly impossible, it battered like hell, I yelp in pain, more loudly than I thought, "Jade?" Zak's soft voice comes into my cell. "What's going on outside?" I ask, my voice dead. "You don't need to worry." he promises. "How're you feeling?" "Like a bullet grazed my arm?" I breathe. "It hurts." "You're as tough as me, Dollface." Daryl walks in. Daryl! "As if." I grin. "Hershel says you'll have a sick ass scar." Zak chuckles. "Sick." I smirk.

"Where's Carl?" "Somewhere." he tells me. "I'll let you both catch up with each other." Zak leaves, leaving just me and Daryl, "'Thought you'd be mad at me." he sighs. "I am, I'm just too weak to show it." I grin. "And my arm hella hurts, I can't even raise it." I get a minor chuckle from him. "I'm glad you're back, Fossils." "Me too. I kinda missed you." he reveals. I let out a weak laugh, "There is a heart in there after all." Things go a little too quiet. "Is Merle here, too?" He nods. "I'm happy for you, at least he's still alive. Just promise you won't piss off again, believe it or not, I missed you more than I had thought."

"I promise, I ain't going anywhere." he smiles. Daryl smiled, like a genuine smile, I thought I was dreaming. "Wakey wakey, Silly-Bear." a voice sings from my cell door. I take a look, of course it was Carl, "See you wild kids later." Daryl smirks walking out. Carl sit at the edge of my bed, sighing as he does, "I really thought I was gonna lose you." "You're not getting rid of me that easy, Grimes." I giggle. "I'm "as tough as Daryl" apparently." "You really did almost die." he frowns. "But I didn't, for once, just look on the bright side." I plead. "I'm alive and here, talking to you."
