"𝐍𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞"
𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐭. I was ignoring that annoying little ringing. And so was Carl. He slept in my cell last night, and Paige was keeping us up. It really was like we were mother and father to her; sleepless nights, the sick in hair and endless cries. Rick was looking after Judith. Carl's arm was around mine as I lay on my side. "Carl...? Jade...?" Rick whispers to us. I groan in annoyance. "Kids, come on." he ushers. "6 a.m. is far too early." I complain. "We should change it." And as if she knew, Paige began wailing. I grunt and basically peel myself out of the bed, falling to the floor in the process. Carl laughs, "Did you really just fall out of the bed on purpose?" "Yes!" I moan getting up. I pick up Paige and rock her a little. "I bet you're hungry, aren't you?" "I am." he agrees. "I didn't mean you, dickhead." I grin. I leave the cell, picking up some of the mashed apple. Letty emerges from her cell, she knew she had to take Paige off of me so I could help Rick and Carl with the farming.
"Damn, she had a screaming match last night." she giggles. "I know." I sigh. "And she won. You don't think she's ill, do you?" "Who, Lil' Moony?" she smirks. "She's tough, chula. She can fight off anything." "True... she was fighting me off." I joke. "Exactly, and you're badass. She's gonna be the strongest kid." she coos. "Her and Judith." Beth smiles as she bounces the little girl on her lap. "Dream team." I agree. I turn to my left to see Zak coming from my own cell, "Needed to borrow some nail vanish, Zak Attack?" I poke. "Yeah, you're hilarious, Jade." he rolls his eyes. "I was just popping to say hi to Carl." I cock an eyebrow, "You? Saying a quick hi to Carl?" "Yeah?" he shrugs. I pause for at least 5 seconds, why would he, Zak, be saying hi to Carl, "Okay?" I had to shrug it off, or else my brain would hurt. "Right, I'm gonna make a start on counting the guns." Zak informs. "Mi amor, you have checked them too much." Letty frowns. "Let, since Vinnie, Alfie and Dynasty left us, we've had to keep an eye of everything." Zak explains. "They left us in the dust with how selfish they were... I don't know what made them do it or why they've turned this way but... it's made me feel extra cautious."
"Zak, they left in the middle of the night leaving us barely functioning. But that was in the early days of the Woodbury people here, we've expanded and created a whole security system." I comment. "The guns will be fine." "I just want to make sure." he murmurs before walking off to what we called our armoury. "That man... it's why I love him." Letty smiles. "Ew." I grimace. "Ma'am, excuse me!" she gasps. I chuckle at her. "Jade, farming time!" Rick calls. "Yes, dad!" I grin. Yeah, I call him dad. No one finds it weird. And these past months, he has been my dad. Plus, seeing as Carl and I are fake married, he's sort of my fake father-in-law. Carl yawns and I smirk, "Aw, is someone tired?" "Says you, Miss '6 a.m. is too early'." he argues playfully. "That's Mrs, excuse you." I sass. "Mrs Grimes." he winks. "Woah!" I gasp. "Or is it Moon-Grimes?" Rick asks. "Nah, Grimes is a cool last name." Carl smirks. "Stick with just Grimes."
